Fair point. I think there needs to be a legal definition of IP’s that no longer have a claimant and therefore go public domain by default. If nobody can show ownership then nobody owns it.

Not to be that guy, but it’s the 20th anniversary of the game, The Movies, so yeah. Could just read the title.

That game was so silly and fun. Forgot all about it! We used to make fun little movies and overdub them using Sonar.
- Comment on One Of The Best Games Ever Turns 25, And You Still Can't Buy It 2 weeks ago:
Not really. There’s a lot of abandonware where the IP holders still pull out the lawyers.
- Comment on One Of The Best Games Ever Turns 25, And You Still Can't Buy It 2 weeks ago:
This actually makes a lot of sense. If none of these companies are willing to claim ownership of the IP, then “pirating” the games has no risk… since nobody is willing to claim ownership of the IP. Well played!

I don’t know if you’re aware, but pubs have been around for literally thousands of years. Google tells me that "The oldest known pub in England is a contested title, but The Old Ferry Boat Inn in Cambridgeshire is often cited, with claims of serving drinks since (560) AD. "
I’m sure there were a lot of alcoholics to frequent the place over the past 1500 years or so, but I’m willing to bet that there were a lot of other people who just wanted a meal and a good conversation most days.

Fair, but what I’m saying is that it’s not only worth the price but I’d pay more having played it. 60 bucks? Probably not because I know I’m not that into extraction shooters, but it doesn’t feel like a discount game. Also, I was in my cups when I typed that.
- Comment on 4 weeks ago:
You know what’s cool? Skins don’t impact gameplay at all! You don’t actually have to buy them!
- Comment on 4 weeks ago:
I just picked it up to play with a couple buds, and it’s GOOD. $39.99 good? No, just good. The vibe is great, the gunplay feels good, the extraction is forgiving. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.

I mean, people still do that.
- Comment on AI might be creating a ‘permanent underclass’ but it’s the makers of the tech bubble who are replaceable 1 month ago:
People without money are replaceable. People with money are not. What a stupid statement. MONEY IS WORTH. You could be the most talented engineer in the world, the modern Einstein in science. Unless you have capital or create capital, you’re an insect who will be squashed. I love the idea but AI and automation are about to make 90% of the world’s population obsolete. And NOBODY is training LLMs on UBS or universal healthcare LMAO we’re cooked and reporters know it, but there’s no money in saying it, so even now the media is trying to milk the last possible money from this dying system.

Less weed? If not that, you’re probably staying up too late at night. Go to bed earlier than you have been. Get off the screens at least an hour before you want to to go sleep.
- Comment on Is Star Trek Discovery that bad? 1 month ago:
You need to get passed the first story arc, then it gets really good. It doesn’t really feel Star Trek™ at first, but that changes and it’s worth the journey.

There was alcohol involved. Alliances were made, alliances were broken, butts got hurt. It’s a hell of a game. TBF the friendship was already rocky. This was the coffin nail. Him spilling red wine on my new white cloth couch and blaming me for having a white couch didn’t help.

I lost a friendship over that fucking game.

I wasn’t too keen on that $70 basic version price tag in the first place, so thanks Randy. Can’t wait for it to be $39.99

That’s an option, but there were a lot of people involved in making the game. I’m not a fan of collective punishment. They most probably did their best, he’s just a shit spokesperson.

I have a 3090 in a 7800x3d box with 64 gb ram and I had to drop from 7680x2160 to 3840x1080 to get decent framerates. I get better performance in Star Citizen. After a few CTD’s I just went ahead and got a refund.

I honestly don’t know what this “trainwreck” talk is. BL3 was passable. I didn’t like the antagonists, but the game played fine if purples dropped way too much and the new guns weren’t great. People make it seem like it was the Worst Game Ever and I don’t get it. The pre-sequel was hot garbage, but 3 was fine.

- Comment on I fixed Borderlands 4's stuttering issue by upping my shader cache size to 100 GB, which feels like something I shouldn't have to do in a well-optimised game 2 months ago:
Funny thing, that. It’s not a well-optimised game. That’s the problem.
- Comment on Randy Pitchford Snaps Back at Borderlands 4 Criticism: 'Code Your Own Engine' 2 months ago:
I run a 7800X3D on and X870 mobo, 64gb ram and an RTX3090, and couldn’t run it at my native 7680x2160 resolution and have a playable framerate. It was fine at 3840x1080, but randomly crashed to desktop (at 1/4 my normal resolution, that I can even play Star Citizen at.)
I refunded it after 3 hours. This was before Randy’s ridiculous response to the criticism. I was planning on buying again later when it’s fixed, but now I’m not so sure. The man is his own worst enemy.
- Comment on Not trying to disparage first responders on 911. Why aren't nurses included with fire and police departments? Did we not take care of people on the backend of the rescuing? 2 months ago:
Did we not take care of people on the backend of the rescuing?
No disrespect but nurses weren’t in the towers evacuating people and trying to get them to safety. Nurses weren’t crushed by the collapses, or burnt to death by the fires. Nurses didn’t die of horrendous diseases due to inhalation of unknown toxins and asbestos. Were the nurses heroes who saved uncounted lives? Undoubtedly. But they were not first responders, and didn’t suffer the same outcomes.
- Comment on Borderlands 4 Launches To Mostly Negative Steam Reviews Over Performance Issues And Crashing 2 months ago:
I’m not dismissing the criticism of BL3, I honestly don’t know what it is beyond my personal experience. I wasn’t a big fan of the antagonists or the weapon changes, but It didn’t ruin the game for me. I really didn’t know that the game was so widely disliked - I never even looked into it. It came out, I played it, lost interest, and moved on with my life.
