Uhhh. What else is there to do In NOLA? You absolutely have to go if you’ve never been. Just take Ubers and reasearch where you go stay. There is soooo much to do! It’s literally the funnest place to be, even if you hate Mardi Gras or the French Quarter. There is just all kind of stuff to do. Art, crab fishing, deep sea fishing, see alligators, voodoo shops, more drinking and partying than anywhere else, giant aquarium, Decandence and Pride parades for lgbt, naked bike rides, giant parades for St Patrick’s day, voodoo fest with lots of bands, Jazz fest, festivals and parades for random shit if they run out of excuses, daiquiris beers and hello shots available in drive thru, vampire balls, vampire bars, PRI football games, pro basketball games, cemetery tours, ferry to cute East bank or whatever, French market in quarter, walk around French quarter and party, take railcar to Irish are and party, go to beach 25 min away, etc.
Ha ha. Holy shit, what is there to do in NOLA?

Fuck all of you. Go to New Orleans in a week when crawfish season starts and eat some mud bugs, some blackened redfish, jambalaya, gumbo, cajun crawfish etouffee, etc. Best food in the world.
- Comment on Australians banned social media. Now they are worried about teenagers going outside with e-bikes 1 week ago:
That’s pretty much it. Ban them from congregating in parking lots. Ban them from malls. But if your kid has friends over and one sneaks beer and has a wreck, you’re getting sued. But don’t discipline your kids or that’s abuse. Also, if you kid has a vape at school, they are getting a criminal charge. Whatever you do, don’t allow kids to exist, especially with other kids outside of your house, but also, don’t let them be entertained when they’re bored either.
My point is, maybe it’s all too complicated and there should be a different approach.

Alabama is bad but Louisiana is an absolute shithole state with crooks in the gov. Full of poverty when those should be very rich people. Too bad they didn’t make the oil companies pay taxes for all that oil they drill or spill in the gulf every day.

Bastards. I’m just want the infrastructure first. From what I understand our sewer has hit some kind of capacity too. People just can’t pay more and more and more so some duck can have a yacht. Honestly, I wish this place was a bigger city, but just give us the infrastructure and I’m good.
- Comment on The consequences of not building enough housing 4 weeks ago:
We made a shit tin of those. Many are empty to drive prices up.
- Comment on The consequences of not building enough housing 4 weeks ago:
I was recently a NIMBY. Let me explain. People from California sell their homes for millions and come here and offer way over asking price so we are priced out. Natives cannot afford to live here now. In 2020 they fucked me out of a house I wanted, even after I offered well over asking. Now they want to put 450 homes behind the neighborhood where I finally got a house. The roads are already damn near impassible. The state refuses to allow us to charge the developer an impact fee. We’re running out of water. Our water bills just went up 149%. Real estate has flown through the roof. We do not have enough infrastructure, enough schools, and an ambulance might take 45 min. Traffic is ridiculous. Some person from Cali was in Reddit asking locals for advice, and they attacked her so bad she said never mind, I’m absolutely not moving there.
Honestly, we’re not bad people. We’re just sick if it. For some reason people in high COL places romanticize this area and it’s ruining everything. Like damn, how much more do things have to be to accommodate all these people?

That is not the consequence of enough housing. It’s from wealth hoarding.

Anyone know if Microslop hardware requirements made users switch to a newer gen of RAM? If so, I see another case for Linux on the horizon.

I had to buy a new PlayStation controller after playing the original Dark Souls. Also, deleting google play bricked my old ( but brand new) phone and I threw it across a room. Also, the scene where they filmed the guys bashing the printer with baseball bats is my favorite scene in Office Space because I had to print 10 copies if a 500 page document when I was an intern and I destroyed and subsequently fixed every printer in a four story office building, and didn’t leave work until 7pm on a Friday.
Just break all that shit!

Reminds me of my Samsung phones. I got a new battery for my Galaxy S5 and one for my S22. One from around 2015, and the other released in 2022. You can take the back cover off the S5s and replace the battery in a few seconds. By 2022 they disabled serviceability to the point that removing and replacing the back cover alone took an hour to do, just so people will buy another rather than use a heat gun and learn about proper adhesive removal and reapplication. They just made it a monumental pain in the ass so they could sell more phones.

Privacy fatigue is real. It’s best to have a threat model before implementing countermeasures. I’m absolutely worn out from it, and I still might suck. Additionally, nextDNS, which is one if my privacy tools, seems to have almostnforwarded to Googlehosted.com, which it blocked due to my rules, but still. How exhausting!
So how do you feel about e/OS ecosystem. I think I will delete MicroG, and then maybe do that for every update, but other than that it is pretty cool. I still might download Fdroid but too afraid to install more things yet.

You could use a live linux boot disc and don’t save any info. Just need another disc to write the pics, or you could use it on top of another installation. Boot to live until you sell and get one of those extra numbers that forwards phone calls to your real number. All this could also be solved with shitty burner phone.

I might be the dumbest person here, but even if this is made up and supposed to be satire, this is exactly what I would expect him to say, because he would think using women rather than having a relationship is preferred. I would honeslty be shocked if he didn’t think relationships with women were gay.
