Fair enough.

Headphones can emulate multi-channel spacial audio because the speakers are right on your ears. Tvs and laptops could do the same thing my headset does, it just wouldn’t do any good because speakers are too far away and in the wrong orientation.
- Comment on Every dam time 1 week ago:
Most basic stereo headphones are straight dual channel and have the same issues as listening through laptop or tv speakers. I’m talking about the ones that actually use multi-channel signal to simulate a 5.1 or 7.1 environment.
- Comment on Every dam time 1 week ago:
The actual reason, for anyone curious, is that movies and shows now are recorded and mixed for 5 or 7 chanel surround audio systems. The dialogue is meant to rout to the speakers closer to the viewers so it’s tuned lower, while big loud shit is meant to come from the bigger, bassier speakers up front farther from viewers so they tune it louder.
If you watch on a laptop, invest in surround sound headphones. I got a decent pair for $40 USD and it has vastly improved both my movie watching and gaming experience.

Gonna need at least three more zeros on the end of that number, boss. AGI is nowhere near viable with the tech we have now.

Yup. They’re the state animal and there’s a hockey team named after them. Though technically, “panther” is actually just a generic term for big cats in the family pantera. These guys are actually a type of puma.

Look I’m not saying it isn’t worse now. Everything is obviously worse now.
What I’m saying is that things were already bad before, and we need to look at the root cause because as bad as he is, mango mussolini is just another symptom of the rot that’s been around since long before any of this.

Let’s be real, they already were pay for play before, now they’re just honest about it. Remind me, how many proven unsafe additives does the US allow into food that have been banned by evey other developed country for decades?
- Comment on Toothbrushes don't list what they are made of. 4 weeks ago:
A lot of toothbrushes advertise themselves as “improved whitening” or similar things because the design of the bristles and the action (on electric brushes) actually does help them break up stains, and thus help whiten teeth, when used properly.
As for the antimicrobial claims, there are many materials that are human safe that are also naturally antimicrobial. For instance, brass self sanitizes in as little as 15 minutes, which is why it’s the most common material for doorknobs.

To 1, your “example” is a bad faith gotcha based on an insane hypothetical. It does absolutely nothing to prove my argument wrong that everyone would be safer is speeders slowed down to a reasonable speed.
For 2, nearly all highways in the US are set for a speed limit that is both safe for that road and allows for reasonable efficiency of travel. Your example here is once again a bad faith gotcha argument based on insane hypotheticals.
It’s become clear that you have nothing meaningful to contribute here. Have a nice life, I’m out.
- Comment on Welcome to petty lane 1 month ago:
What you’re advocating for is allowing entitled psychopaths to set the speed everyone is forced to go because you somehow think that if someone is doing 90 in a 55 and hits someone actually doing 55 that it was the normal person’s fault.
I’m obviously not saying anyone should be doing fucking 10 on the highway, I’m saying nobody needs to be doing more than the speed limit.
- Comment on Welcome to petty lane 1 month ago:
Every study we have shows that the roads are safer, there are less crashes and they are less deadly when everyone just goes slower. But apparently you would rather risk getting turned into a rorschach splat than advocate for the thing that actually makes roads safer.
- Comment on Welcome to petty lane 1 month ago:
The state of the road in your scenario is already unsafe because of the people doing 75. Every. Single. Study. Shows that there are less crashes and they are less lethal when everyone just slows the fuck down. But none of you entitled fuckwits will accept even the tiniest bit of personal inconvenience for the sake of your own safety and that of everyone around you, so we have to live in fucking Mad Max instead.
- Comment on Welcome to petty lane 1 month ago:
This is a bullshit talking point used by psychopaths to try to justify their antisocial behavior. If the people around you are going so fast that just doing the speed limit becomes unsafe, they are the ones wholly responsible for creating those unsafe conditions. They are driving faster than the conditions (and let’s be real, their own ability) would reasonably allow for, they are the only ones that should be held responsible for the consequences of their freakish behavior.
