Elden Ring DLC for me.
At least the main game, the world was kind of flat.
The land of Shadow’s map was kind of difficult to read. There was too many layers. Some things were underground. Some were above ground.
If the world wasn’t connected but broken by portals or something, it would have been fine. But condensed like that made it feel too big and I overwhelming.

This is it.
GTA 5 was boring when it came to exploring, much of it was pretty empty unless there was a mission. Elder Scrolls Arena was just random generated repeated stuff - miles of it. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was a lot of copy and paste.

I’m playing the hell out of Escape from Duckov.
All the fun of a extraction shooter, only single player.

I treat it like, “Ah I see you shared an opinion in public that is the reason your family abandoned you. And here you are, alone in society - still holding on to your shitty thoughts, and you will die alone.”

We had to buy a new (used 2022) car after we ran out old car into the ground. The touch screen controls temperatures. There wasn’t a single variant of the car that didn’t have a giant ass touch screen. It makes me really uncomfortable when the screen no longer works.
There’s also some other things that piss me off.
But Some of the pros (and why we accepted that trade off):
- all wheel drive
- fancy sensors when someone is in my blindside
- it opens when it senses the key is nearby.
- heated seats with controls. (Used to bring hot packs because it gets cold here)
- cameras for the rear
- it does that cool thing where it breaks if it senses you might collide. I hated it at first but I’m old now and it saved me once from collision.
Either way, fuck cars and if public transportation was better here, id use that.

Going on two decades now.
Me with Minecraft.
Me with MMOs.
Me with Dota/LoL and whatever this genre is called.
Me with DayZ/etc survival shooters.
Me with whatever chess auto battlere are.
Granted, games after the popularity winds down and they incorporate it into game genres I do like are neat. I freaking love V Rising.

From the perspective of the indie dev who was able to make a life, career, and grow his audience… Id think they’d be happy with that outcome.

What did you think of the Oblivion remastered?
Starfield looked pretty good. But for some reason, Oblivion in Unreal 5 looked incredible. I could be drinking the Kool aid.
- Comment on 3 weeks ago:
Same!
Starfield crashed for me maybe five times in 150 hours. And I remember excitedly telling somebody and they gave me a disgusted look.

I was like OP. I fucking hate discord.
But then, this little indie game in early access had a bug, but I couldnt find where to email them. So reluctantly, I joined shitty ass discord, sent the dev a screenshot, and within like 15 minutes, the dev was able to figure out the fix.
I stuck around and saw more threads. Updates, future fixes, other people doing speed runs, even a place people were making fan art.
And that’s when he realized Discord isnt so shitty, because that solo dev now has all this conversation and people motivating them.

I loved Hero’s Hour, mostly because of it was built using Game Maker Studio, that scrappy drag and drop game making tool.

Haha I absolutely bought ZoE1 to get the mgs2 demo.
I then forced myself to play ZoE.
I remember telling everyone I liked it. But at my age, I can’t remember if I actually did.

You gotta share the link: …steampowered.com/…/Heroes_of_Science_and_Fiction…
Oh man it looks great

even then it will still crash 4 times in the span of one day.
I feel stupid. This was always my experience even on Day 1 release date. That’s been my Bethesda experience since forever! FO4, New Vegas, Skyrim.
You’re telling me people play these games without it crashing every 1-3 hours?

Doesn’t the UK require that shit now?
And I know a bunch of US states require it when you stumble on a tit.
Either way, VPNs making bank right now.

Pretty much. OP being a real dick for no reason with that last sentence.
Just ask if you’re okay with dating both in that scenario.

Oh God I hope not.
Can we just make a community called IHateWomen and have them migrate there?
- Comment on Game Pass Price Hike Announced, Will Cost $30/Month For Ultimate 5 weeks ago:
I was obsessed with Game Pass during the start of the pandemic. There was a dozen games I wanted and I could get PC Game Pass for like $30 for six months, versus buying a single game for $30.
Then Steam Deck came out and suddenly all my money went back to Steam.

Which one? Xbox? PC? The Ultimate Edition?
Ah just cancel it all

Oh boy I’m glad you said that because I didn’t want to sound like an idiot. I’m 40yo and I have no idea who the VU are, nor does comparing them to the Beatles make me excited to look them up.
- Comment on 9 months after its 1.0 launch flopped, an indie dev just learned that Steam never emailed the 130,000 people who wishlisted its game 1 month ago:
This is going to sound weird but I never actually get Steam emails, outside of receipts. Maybe I disabled them years ago. And I wishlist/follow hundreds of games.
Uncertain if I’m a unique edge case who hates email clutter or not.

Ugh Adam Carolla. That guy was against giving kids free lunches.
It was the first time I saw someone so loudly against feeding kids.

Pretty much. Can’t remember what he did that ticked me off like 8 years ago.
I stopped buying and surprise surprise, got everything after Borderland 2 for literally free or like $2-3 at some point.
