- Comment on Cool Japan 🌸 7 hours ago:
When I lived in Japan I once watched a show where they flew to Turkey, gave a Turkish chef all ingredients for a common Japanese dish and then played laughing tracks when he tried to cook it without knowing what it is. There were a lot of similar shows, like following foreign tourists and playing laughing tracks when they struggled with the ticket machine at a train station.

Severe depression and/or burnout can have similar effects. I’ve been in a brain fog for years and it only started getting better with antidepressants. However, first you’ll need to make sure that there is no physical cause. Any good doctor will check your blood more in detail with those symptoms. There’s also the chance that there are several causes, not just one. You could have e.g. sleep apnea and also some other issue.
Are you taking any medicamentation? Even if it’s a common one like allergy meds, you could be one of the unlucky few with severe side effects.
- Comment on How come not all people are organ donors? It's not like they will need them where ever they go. 2 weeks ago:
Also severe allergies. I’ve been told I couldn’t be an organ donor due to anaphylaxis. You can donate blood with heterozygous Leiden V factor though.
- Comment on is it normal for parents to act nice one minute and rude the next? 3 months ago:
My understanding is that bipolar people are swinging between depression and a manic state. Also these state last usually several days. My mother has a bunch of other symptoms of NPD, not just that one.
- Comment on is it normal for parents to act nice one minute and rude the next? 3 months ago:
My mother is very similar and I’m pretty sure she’s a narcissist. She could also switch between “Have fun at the playground my darling! I’ll have your favorite dinner ready when you come back!” to “Why did you come back?? I’m sick of you! Get lost and don’tcome back! Having children was the worst mistake of my life!” within an afternoon.
- Comment on What's wrong with Ellen DeGeneres? 3 months ago:
She often overstepped the guests’ boundaries. For exampled she pressured Mariah Carey into drinking alcohol as a toast to “not being pregnant” in order to force her to admit she was pregnant. Carey later said she didn’t want to discuss her pregnancy due to a history of miscarriages. She also got really aggressive towards a guest for not having been invited to her birthday party. That’s just her on-camera behavior. There are numerous stories of her being an asshole to basically everyone behind the scenes.
- Comment on Is looksmaxxing legit? 3 months ago:
It’s partially general advise for taking care of yourself (stay fit, use make-up (just don’t call it that), choose clothes that fit you) packaged inside a large pile oft bullshit, pseudo-science and grifters trying to sell you normal items for 30x the price. The parts that are legit can be learned from other sources that aren’t selling you an ideology. Go to medical professionals for advise on nutrition and working out, just buy normal makeup and get fashion advise from fashion content.
The parts that aren’t legit like bone smashing can be really harmful.
- Comment on Why don;t most of us Americans only need like one foreign language to pass high school? Why not make it mandatory for like 3 or 4 languages?Would that not give us the upper hand when traveling? 3 months ago:
English starts in 3rd grade here and a second language like French or Spanish usually in 5th grade. Starting to learn foreign languages in high school is wild.

Lineage OS on a Pixel 4.
- Comment on How are criminals apprehended by vigilantes able to go to prison? 4 months ago:
The laws would have to be adjusted in a world where vigilantes exist. This is actually a plotpoint in several vigilante stories. Either the (super)hero catches someone and they can’t go to prison or the laws have to change in a society where superpowers exist.
- Comment on As a Chinese American, if I wanna travel internationally, is it better to just say I'm American, or pretend to be a Chinese National (to hide from Anti-American sentinments)? 4 months ago:
It’s not exactly a criticism. I personally have never met an american who was outright rude, just really oblivious of their surroundings. One of my american friends (who is a rather quiet person and feels much more at home here) told me that the US always feels very loud due to advertisements, music, TV being everywhere and you get uses to having to speak very loudly just to be heard.

Americans talk loudly and tend to be less mindful of the area around them. There’s this tendency to take up more space. Not necessarily in the sense of putting your bag on the seat but just big arm movements when talking, leaning, stretching legs. Not that every American I met did that, but enough to be noticeable. At least here in Germany people on average try to take up less space when in public.
There’s just this general air of “confidently doing something without knowing what they’re doing”. Other tourists tend to be more careful, ask how to do something or show they are insecure about how things work in a foreign country.
Americans just tend to take up more space. With their body language, their voice… I’ve met quite a few through language exchange groups and like 80% of the time you can tell their nationality before you talk to them.
- Comment on Consumerism ahhhhh moment 5 months ago:
There was a very annoying radio ad for a musli brand when I was a child. I decided then that I would never buy their product ever. I’m 40 now and can proudly say that I still go out of my way to not buy any products from that company and to the best of my knowledge I’ve never eaten their products.
I get that the idea is to create recognition, but if it’s too annoying you won’t get a “Ah, I’ve heard that name I’ll go for this one” from me but a “Oh, that’s the annoying one, I’ll avoid it.”
- Comment on What is with these videos where it's just someone reaction to shit someone else is doing? 6 months ago:
There is some content I am curious about but can only stomach when I watch it on a reaction channel so I don’t die of second hand embarrassment. For other people I think it has a lot to do with feeling lonely. Reaction channels make you feel like you have someone to share the jokes with. I think way too many people are lonely nowadays.
- Comment on Libraries are cool 7 months ago:
I don’t know where you’ve been but most libraries I’ve seen in Germany have little cards where you put yhe book you don’t want to check out. Our university library even had signs asking to please put books on the carts and not reshelve them yourself.
- Comment on What do you do when you have a cold and can't take medicine? 8 months ago:
Hot tea with honey (there are plenty of herbs that will help like chamomile). Slowly sucking on a spoonful of honey also helps with a sore throat. I also find it helps to move from the bed to the couch because I’ll get sick of the bed and the bedroom and being in the livingroom changes things up. Also hot showers and changing the pyjama. Just anything that makes me feel like I’m not marinating in my bed 24/7.
- Comment on Where do you typically leave/read reviews 8 months ago:
I don’t anymore. I don’t know a single page that is reliable. On google even three star reviews get removed, so good reviews are meaningless.
- Comment on Why isn't the rest of the world doing anything about the USA? 8 months ago:
Assuming things turns back, there will be a lot to rebuild in matter of trust and commerce.
I’m not so sure about that. The US has proven that they’ll make a 180° turn on anything within just the blink of an eye. Even if the US turns back, there’ll be no guarantee it won’t elect the next batshit crazy person as president four years later.
- Comment on Are there good Movies, TV Shows, Anime, with wholesome family (particularly parent-child) relations? 8 months ago:
It’s a bit older, but I think Adventures of the Gummi Bears has a wholesome family dynamic, even if the family doesn’t seem to be related. If I remeber correctly, the King (Calla’s father) is also shown to be a very loving father.
- Comment on Come back to this post in 2030's 10 months ago:
I had a coworker who told us every winter that “There always used to be winters with little to no snow, the alarmists just make that into a big deal.” and every summer that “There always have been hot summers.” When pointing out that he is saying that every year and when did he have 3-4 hot summers in a row in his childhood, he’d just say “oh it’s just 3 summers. Shit happens. It’s no big deal and doesn’t mean anything.” (And the year after that it was just 4 summers and the year after that he denied it was even that hot 5 years ago.)

Complaining about “redditism” on a website that is built to look and feel like old reddit is a bit weird. Oh no, someone made a post and another person commented. That’s just like reddit.
How about we don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater and if something from reddit was helpful we have our own version of it.

Removing a tampon that isn’t sufficiently soaked is pretty uncomfortable because it irritates the vagina. You also should change the tampon every few hours to avoid toxic shock symptom. If the tampon is too big, it won’t be soaked enough and very uncomfortable to remove.

I live in a major city un Germany. One of the big ice cream parlors has several trucks that go to parks and areas with many offices. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one driving through a residential neighbourhood.

And tomorrow they’ll post a picture of a 10,000$ gaming setup with LEDs and shit and claim that women can’t possibly understand spending a ton of money on furniture and decorations.
Not to mention that this joke has been done to death. For years pictures of empty rooms with a matress have been posted to claim that “this is what men want”. (Until next week, when we’ll post a picture of a gaming room full of expensive furniture and elaborate decorations and claim that THIS is what men want, actually, for real, I swear.)

I’ve always dated around ± 3-4 years. I usually didn’t get along with men who were a lot older or younger. My husband is one year and four month younger.

Maybe check if there are maker spaces/repair cafes near you. They are always happy for help.
