What the democrats are doing to oppose trump (basically fucking nothing) is the most damning evidence of all, in my opinion. They are controlled opposition.

I can play a lot of my games on a computer that cost me less than $100, plus peripherals. Gaming is cheap nowadays as long as you’re not gunning for the newest crap, and it lasts a long while. Meanwhile, playing basketball regularly requires you either have reliable access to a car (I don’t) or live in an area where there’s a publically available basketball court, AND enough people to play. Yeah, you could set up hoops in the street or something, but literal cars run through there. And people need to back out of their driveway. If you can’t do it in your neighborhood, then you have to spend time that a lot of low-income folks don’t have traveling to and from somewhere that does have the requisite things. Not impossible, but not at as convenient as an old business laptop from 2017 off Ebay with Steam on it.

What world do you live in where more people play basketball than online video games?
Even then, I don’t think there’s a way someone on my team could be so bad that I even raise my voice at them, much less verbally belittle them. Whenever I have a useless teammate I think “Damn, they must be new. I don’t think we’re winning this one.” And then I do my best and I have fun.

As an American who can’t bear to play most online games because they might go down or disallow Linux users, please please please please check. EU laws are our only hope of having usable fucking technology.
The thought of being able to mod and host my own GTA 5 online server when it goes down, without some weird custom server mod that also uses Windows-exclusive anti-cheat on most servers, sounds like a damn dream. I miss that game… but fuck Windows, nothing is worth installing Windows. I just realized I’ve been ranting about the lack of Linux compatibility of GTA 5 Online in reply to someone’s comment about how this petition has gone on for a while. I swear I wasn’t hijacking your comment, I just have strong feelings about Linux gaming and got carried away.

And yet, they still think they’re too good to put track pads on it.
I don’t think these companies are aware that what made the deck popular was it knew what it was and that it had a lot to prove, and so it featured a very tight but dynamic design that allowed it to compensate for being in a form factor that is just sometimes inherently inconvenient to PC gaming. It wasn’t just a gaming pc with an Xbox controller taped to it, which this is.

Mods are tricky. The short answer is yes, absolutely*
The long answer is that youll have to read up on how compatibility layers like Wine work before being able to do everything you can do with windows on a Linux OS modding-wise. Long story short you just kinda stick them in the same instance, and it will all work pretty much perfectly. It’s more work though. Also in my experience MO2 crashes if run outside of Gaming Mode on my deck.
Nexus mods is, however, making a mod manager that supports Linux right out of the box, so we may not even have to worry about that anymore soon. I think it supports stardew valley already, next is cyberpunk 2077, and Bethesda rpgs are on the list to be added too.
In my experience, I’ve installed wabbajack mod lists for skyrim and fallout 4 and new vegas if I remember right, and they all work great. The instructions might seem a little janky, but they work. I’ve also made my own lists and followed manual modpack guides like Below Zero for fallout 4 Frost and it turned out great.

PC gaming and console gaming are two very different markets, due to the open nature of PCs. Until recently, Microsoft has had a monopoly on all of it and the ability to control the environment it happens in, if not what happens in said environment. They do not want to lose that. That’s actually kinda the reason Valve started making steam machines in the first place, because they realized that their cash cow was dependent entirely on an operating system that might figure out a way to cut them out and they’d have no recourse.

When I’m browsing, it’s my first stop. I want to see the minimum specs to estimate how well it’ll run, how the devs market their game at a glance, year of release, rating, etc. Then if it looks interesting it’s time for external reviews.
