Both can be true at the same time, we have all those same issues too, the gov enabled the rich (and the elected officials themselves) to loot the country. But also uncontrolled rising costs destroyed a lot of businesses which the country needed to function

What fairy tale? I was making an assumption based on watching the industry die in the UK for the reasons backed up by your graph.
Looks like Germany is different from what I assumed

They are good for quick small batch stuff, but way less efficient than modern fan oven for anything bigger. Once you run for long enough to mitigate heating the ovens larger thermal mass, oven always wins.

I imagine the same thing which finished off heavy industry in the U.K. is hurting DE a lot also, high energy prices.
Less of a direct effect on assembly businesses, but for heavy production where your process is largely to convert energy to product its devestating. Then you lose those job while also having to pay another county for the product. It fucked us over here for sure

Yeah the chart is bad, 8 of those days in the UK are national holidays and therefore decided for you.
Plus we’re behind on the rest, it’s like the chart was sponsored by our government…
Could be worse those, could be American…

- Comment on As Xbox and PlayStation flounder, Steam is reportedly having another record year 1 month ago:
And with those resources they decided to make a huge long term investment in making PC gaming on windows optional, then even the worse experience. Don’t see that loser Tim sweeny doing anything of that value… It’s not exactly a monopoly either… You can install any other available store on your pc, unlike consoles. More competition would be great but steams market share was earned in an environment that wasn’t a walled garden.
- Comment on They're F*ing trying again 1 month ago:
Yeah they could MITM to give false keys so they can decrypt before sending on again using the real key, but if that’s what they want to do then it would be much more effective at monitoring people who are actively engaging in protecting their communication do just do that quietly rather than this circus.
This is probably more a combination of boomer levels of technical understanding and incrementally shifting the norm away from any expectation of privacy.
- Comment on I still can't get over Skyrim. Are there any games that can replace it? 2 months ago:
And the sequel is of equal quality, the combat was simplified a bit but I like both approaches.
The sheer amount of high quality narrative across both games is pretty unique. There’s very little that feels like filler busy work, which was what most of skyrim felt like for me. Especially after oblivion.

Maybe let’s not give them advice to the contrary when someone is telling everyone who they really are.

I do too but non of the above actually look young like the creepy stuff. I’d place them in their mid 20s

Sometimes I feel like my Linux desktops are the last place is It where search isn’t utterly broken.
I can get by using Google for tech stuff just because of experience. I had to look up something for my car today, ended up rage quitting after the 50th irrelevant YouTube video result.
I feel like moving to a cave and living off insects might be the way forward

- Comment on Games you really want to play, but can't or won't? 7 months ago:
I wish I could go back and never experience it before PL. It’s what it should have been at release, took me ages to get around to trying it after the broken and underwhelming early versions because the main story was long and linear. I’m glad I did though, it’s an entirely different experience
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 7 months ago:
I pirated it at some point, it’s was as expected, stuffed with repetitive boring tasks to increase playtime. Didn’t get far before deleting it.
Oh and driving was still beyond broken over a year past release

Probably a steam deck as they are yet to be hit by the mega price hikes.
Once they are, abandon any thoughts of gaming for a while I guess.

I rent apartments a lot on booking.com for staff travel, it’s never any hassle.
Used Airbnb once, never again.
Family book it often if I don’t get ahead of them, apart from one time the places are always sub par and half the stuff is broken.

Thanks that’s really helpful, I have to view large technical drawings and been wanting to replace my multi monitor setup with an oled for media too but was concerned having static images on it for hours at a time.
I think I’ll give it a go.
- Comment on Anon buys a TV without researching 1 year ago:
I’ve seen burn in on early oled panels which is why I’d never used them in this way, but seems they have improved a lot.
- Comment on Anon buys a TV without researching 1 year ago:
What’s the burn in like on the oled? I have that LG as my TV but haven’t dared buy one as a monitor as oled used to be so bad for burn in
