Might have got a few more months/years out of my dad if they’d actually taken him seriously instead of fobbing him off for two weeks before discovering his pancreatic cancer at an ultrasound to prove it was actually kidney stones causing his textbook pancreatic cancer symptoms.

It’s starting to sound plausible that not even they know why they did it.

I suspect the main reason for her saying that is because it’s true.

Yeah I’d really like to know how this ‘you don’t ever own the game’ fits in with their other line ‘piracy is theft’.
how can you have stolen something if you haven’t actually gotten it?
- Comment on Keir Starmer’s Government Has Quietly Beefed Up Its Workers’ Rights Bill to Make It More Pro-Worker 4 weeks ago:
Why quietly?
Things like this are what Labour should be making the main discussion in current affairs.

What’s the minimum crew count?

- Comment on Starmer says he wants to increase UK defence spending to 3% - and announces foreign aid cut 2 months ago:
to be fair, having a better funded and equipped military gives us the ability for more ‘foreign action’ which could be used in place of ‘aid’ in certain circumstances.

An absolute corker of a movie. Chock full of quotable moments and hilarity. Long live Dogma.
- Comment on Wimbledon school crash: Woman rearrested over deaths of two girls 2 months ago:
My point is the CPS had decided that the explanation provided by her is enough to rule out prosecuting her.
So surely anyone can use that defence then, when they drive like a twat and kill somebody because of it. Er I got undiagnosed epilepsy, passed out for the first time with it ever and the doc says it’s possible so you can’t arrest me?
Thing is, this could be cast iron truth from her, I just don’t think the judgement of whether she is telling the truth or not here should be something the CPS decides, but rather a jury of her peers, with plenty of medical experts weighing in too.
I don’t want to call her a liar, but I want the truth of her claim to be fully validated. If it were anything else, whatever, but two little girls are dead and there are others that will never be the same again.
- Comment on Wimbledon school crash: Woman rearrested over deaths of two girls 2 months ago:
Sure, but isn’t this the sort of thing usually debated and considered at a trial?
Previously it was the CPS choosing not to prosecute.

- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 2 months ago:
I hope he is cured of his moral braindeath soon and then actually feels the appropriate level of guilt for his actions, and is prevented from ending his own life over it.
I mean imagine if you woke up one day, realised and remembered every second of how you murdered 3 little girls, stabbing at them like some sort of crazed rabid dog, and that you realised you knew what you were doing and did it on purpose. Could you live with yourself after that? how much would that guilt burn your soul to cinders? How horrifically impossible would it be to deal with that?
Imagine that feeling for just a second, if you can.
That’s how I want him to feel, forever and ever with no possibility of escape.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 2 months ago:
I doubt he will make it to 70 years old, being in prison for murdering children and all.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
He’s 18 and is in for murdering children.
He is going to get absolutely eaten alive.
I mean, the guy that killed is own daughter (RIP Sara Sharif) was sent to prison, it took 2 weeks for him to get slashed up by another prisoner. They will be queuing up to get to this guy.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
You may be surprised just how much death row costs. Part of being ‘absolutely sure’ is not executing until all possibilities of appeal and such are exhausted, and well, if your scheduled to be killed most people will do whatever they can to delay it for as long as possible, or even better get it overturned. Some end up on death row for decades.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
yeah sure, 2077 is just the first date he will be eligible for release.
I strongly suspect he will die in prison though.
What a fucking waste of a 13 year old (or whatever age it was we went), turning into this. What a waste of those poor kids. Fuck everything to do with this, but especially those taking political opportunity off it.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
absolutely no death penalty until the justice system can be proven to be completely flawless and incapable of convicting an innocent.
yeah but you’ll never need to look past this statement, because it will never be so.
they day somebody produces a ‘perfect’ judicial system is the day justice actually dies. Only place that has ever been ‘achieved’ is places like north korea.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
52 years, so he’ll be 70 when eligible for release. aint gonna be much of a threat then, if he even makes it that far, being a child murdered in prison and all.
He’ll get to see if cyberpunk becomes a reality or not. coz he’ll be in prison until at least 2077.
- Comment on Axel Rudakubana: 'Evil' Southport killer jailed for minimum 52 years 3 months ago:
If you support the re-introducing the death penalty, then you must accept that at some point in the future, somebody will be executed for a crime that they are innocent of.
It is inevitable and rules it out for me.
