- Comment on Do you think a story that mixes magic with super advanced technology can work? 3 days ago:
Tad Williams did a decent job in “War of the flowers” There was tech comparable to early 2000’s (smartphones, electricity, cars, etc) but was powered by magic, and magic itself was still capable of being used.

I love that mechanic. It forces the players movement to be more strategic while ramping up the tension. “I have to look away to get around this obstacle, can I do it quick? How close will it be when I look back?” Then you get stuck on something and it’s like “shitshitshit”

Invented makes it sound like they came up with it from scratch. It’s more likely they bred one or bioengineered one.

It probably only eats a specific type of plastic. There are tons of different plastics all formulated differently, some could be toxic to the bacteria.

That kind if abstract thinking isn’t in that person’s wheelhouse. They’re focused on their next meal, which bill to pay (or partially pay), and if that pain is worth the time/money lost going to urgent care. They aren’t thinking about the long term effects or side effects of political arguments.

- Comment on Why I Haven't Seen Any Trump Supporters In Fediverse (Lemmy and Mastodon)? 8 months ago:
If all you’re voting on is how they respond to Gaza, Harris isn’t great but Trump is exponentially worse. He’s openly said that Israel should continue what they’re doing. In fact, in every metric of comparison Trump is exponentially worse. It’s not that we’re scared of Trump, it’s that he is so much worse in every regard.

That problem exists only as long as no one makes a better CPR machine.

You know we have robots that weld right now? And people are building basic sex robots? The idea that AI can’t replace a human is narcissistic hubris.
