Don’t worry, I haven’t had to use Windows or MacOS since the early 2010s.

Well, good news! Windows File Explorer gets built-in AI actions, so you can combine the worst of both worlds! 🥳
- Comment on Does anyone use a phone without a protective case? 2 weeks ago:
Yes. No case. Why would I? I specifically got the phone because it’s quite small, and feels nice in the hand. A case would ruin that.
I also have not dropped any of my phones once in the past ~10 years.

Computer Science (at a rather “prestigious” university for CS, for that matter, at least as far as that’s a thing here). Not in the US though, and none of the three universities I’ve studied at had mandatory attendance, for anything (exception: seminars, where attending talks by your fellow students was mandatory). As a result, I’ve never seen any prof take attendance.
A lot of comments on this post say that attendance was called esp. for freshmen classes, but frankly, I don’t see how that would even have been possible here, with sometimes 500+ students in a lecture hall.
In regards to assignments, at least in my experience, studying the lecture material and consulting it while solving the exercises was usually the fastest way to understand them and get them done.
- Comment on Late 2 weeks ago:
Hi, I have been to lectures fewer than 10 times throughout my entire master’s. No AI, no textbooks, just lecture slides and doing the (ungraded) weekly assignments.
It probably wasn’t a smart idea (incl. for my social life), but it also wasn’t hard to do.

If an employer wants to see your IQ, you probably do not want to work there regardless.

Unless a piece of software is open source, you cannot know.

I switched a couple of months ago, from SwiftKey. Had been using that for ever, long before Microsoft bought it.
NGL, the transition was a bit rough, and the first month my error rate spiked. All good now though, plus Futo has a bunch of super useful features SK never had. Overall, very happy.

😭
I usually do, I promise. ANyways, that was 6 years ago. We’re stil going strong, making the most of life in this universe :)
- Comment on Multiverse 4 months ago:
Sorry, I should have gone more into the actual belief. For more it was less of an “if I make a decision that leads to my death in this universe, there surely is a parallel universe where I did not!”, it was “if I die in this universe, thanks to an infinite multiverse, there must be one where I spontaneously star exisitng with all my exact memories from the previous life”.
- Comment on Multiverse 4 months ago:
Oof that reminds me…
When my partner and I had already been living together for a while, we had one of those “cuddle on the couch and deeptalk” days, when she confided that, while she was not religious in any traditional sense of the word, she felt immensely comforted by the thought of an infinite multiverse existing.
“If there’s an infinite amount of parallel worlds, then I choose to believe that even if I die here, life goes on in another world, so in a sense my being and existence do not simply vanish completely. Same for you! And hey, even if we both die, we’ll get to continue living together in some version of the infinite multiverse!”It was clearly a thought that comforted her a lot, and at the same time a rather intimate belief that she chose to share with me. So, like the idiot I am, I stared her in the face blankly and went “There’s an infinite amount of numbers between 0 and 1, and none of them are 2”.
I really regret that. She let me know later that that one sentence shattered the belief for her. Which is sad, because it’s such an innocent thought. There’s no religious behaviors or conditions or rituals attached to it, it’s just comforting.
- Comment on May not be the right place but here it goes. One of my brothers passes or get extremely tired if he sees porn. Even a sex scene in a movie he has to go lay down. Is there something wrong with him? 4 months ago:
- has a dick so utterly ginormous that even the slightest bit of arousal drains a sufficient amount of blood from his system to make him pass out
- Comment on Now freeze and deep fry them 5 months ago:
Hi. I’m German. I bake my own bread. My parents bake bread. My brother bakes bread.
We freeze the bread after it’s cooled down from being baked.
You know why?
Because that way, it’s great even weeks later.
Sure, nothing beats bread that’s just out of the oven. But honestly, I think I prefer bread that’s been frozen and reheated even to bread that’s only 1-2 days old.
Waaaaaay Less stale.
