Taiwan doesn’t have nukes. Plus Korra was itself partitioned by the west. So there’s that.

Owning slaves is owning slaves. Genociding the natives is genociding the natives.
If you say you’re against slavery, but own slaves, you’re not actually against slavery, you’re against the bad rep.
- Comment on Basically 3 days ago:
What do you mean? The slaver owners, who genocided the local population to steal their land and didn’t consider women or children people wouldn’t be happy with Trump’s America? Trump’s America is their dream, and it won’t change until you stop mythologizing genocidal slave owners.

You’re overthinking this. He doesn’t care because he didn’t see the consequences. He throws in the ice. He cleans and take shot the trash.
A lot of people start thinking real fast when they have to face the consequences of their actions.
- Comment on Why do some people say "I wouldn't want a government to dictate what I eat"? This would mean they'd be against food safety regulations, would it not? 2 weeks ago:
The difference is having a car on your land is your problem. Having dangerous chemicals that leech into the ground and water is a problem for everyone around you and the generations down the line.

- Comment on Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving? 2 weeks ago:
You’re getting a lot of answers from chronic singles on this thread.
The answer is: It depends on where you are in life and what you needs as a person.
Generally you value different things in a partner as you grow older. A loving, caring, responsible person may be less appealing if you don’t live with them and share no responsibilities and instead are looking for fun and trouble, so you can prioritize other things you like.
As you grow older, you expect different things and reorganize your priorities. You might be more concerned about someone’s personality if you want then to raise your child, than if you want them to get you Molly and fuck.

I mean sure. It’s also okay to want a partner that cares about your experience during intimate, vulnerable acts instead of a guy who sees you as just a useful hole
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
What you’re seeing is western privilege and ignorance. What people aren’t realizing is that “civilized” has often meant “western-white culture”.
Native American weren uncivilized, they were not-white and not-western, and so on.
Yes, caling another culture “uncivilized” is offensive and racist.

It depends on the person and life situation.
Some people have better self control than others.
If you have a chill and safe life it’s much easier to use for fun rather than compulsively.

I’ve always been asked to show I’m authorized to work whenever I work. Isn’t this true for all jobs?
This post seems likes bait imo.
Unless your boss is hiring under the table, I can’t see see how the normal HR hiring process wouldn’t weed out someone not authorized to work.
Maybe do your job and let HR do theirs?

- Comment on Why hasn't congress passed a law saying that you can only deport people *back to their own country*? 1 month ago:
Mainly because the law is working as intended. Also because you would have to define what “their own country” is. Think of DACA recipients, who in many cases don’t even speak the language of the place where they were born, have no cultural or family connections back there, is that “their own country” if the are more USian than anything? What tablet the opposite? naturalized Citizens who very much retain the cultural and heritage connections, at times even creating separate cultural enclaves.
It is almost as if “your own country” is a made up racist concept that gets wielded by power structures to keep people at each other’s throats.
