The hits keep on hitting. Told I have the diabeetus last week. This afternoon I get the call that my nan has passed away, so with my parents in America I’m handling things with my best British stiff upper lip and just now I finally sat down after dealing with that paperwork, looked at my phone and it appears the reason I stopped hearing from the woman I was interested in persuing things with is that she might have taken her jerk ex back.
Sprinkle in a couple of minor work annoyances like people ignoring things I say when I’m meant to be a voice of authority and I’m just having a grand old time. Yaaaay.

My work is terrible at asset management. I have so many old devices kicking around it’s stupid. I should just dump them all at the office with someone sometime but they’re all long-forgotten.

Coles/Woolies or whatever is cheapest bottled water vs Mount Franklin or any other fancy brand. I don’t even know if they still sell Evian here but Evian tastes weird. So does Nestlé’s one whatever that’s called. Obligatory Fuck Nestlé.
Don’t come at me with “just drink tap water it’s great in Melbourne”… I do when I’m home… but I also go on road trips to places with less-than-amazing tap water and/or no chilled water.

Another vote for the Aldi chocolate range which is incredible and leagues ahead of Cadbury and just about anything you can get from the Colesworth shelves. Maybe Lindt is a contender but like 3x more expensive than the Aldi stuff.

Got the news this morning but haven’t brought myself to tell anybody yet so you’ll be the first. I did the glucose resistance test last week and it seems I have type 2 diabetes. I felt fine during and after the tests so I thought maybe I’d be ok but apparently not so much.
It was almost inevitable, I think, considering dad and I are so similar and he has it. I’m still processing it though. I don’t think I have any of the symptoms of it but no doubt if I don’t start managing it they’ll start popping up. This is my first real health issue. Never broken a bone or had to go to hospital besides normal infant stuff. Not as invincible as I suspected.

I don’t watch any reality type of shows unless they’re about finding gold or opals but this new Sin City Tow show on Discovery is my new little treat. I’m sure a chunk of it is staged but I don’t care.

I just learned something about myself. I thought I’d never ridden on a horse but I just saw a photo of me riding one when I was a kid on my parents digital photo frame. How about that.

I live there and it’s fine? Green spaces. Community library/basketball/soccer/netball/whatever courts. Movies. Supermarkets. Shops. Quiet. Free PT to CBD. Got the results from my blood test today and suddenly a lot is starting to make sense AND there may be a way to turn things around for both my physical and mental health. Feeling optimistic. I got the medical cannabis to try and help with the sads but found it doesn’t really do anything of consequence for me so I have a bunch of weed that I’m not super interested in. Although, the indica does help with getting to sleep when I can’t get to sleep which is its purpose so that’s alright.
Also though, apparently my sugar is a little high so they want me to do a 3 hour glucose resistance blood test thing to see if I have the diabeetus (like my Dad does). My levels are nowhere near the levels Dad gets though so we’ll see.

The last time I bought USD cash from the bank I walked in, spoke to the teller who hooked me up and I was out within maybe 4 minutes including them going to get the cash for me.
Today I was directed to take a seat as if I was there to apply for a home loan and nearly 50 minutes later was walked to a back ‘office’ and sat down like I was applying for a home loan, had to verify my email address, phone number and then verify via the mobile app that I was indeed sitting in front of someone at the bank, then re-instate what I wanted. The guy went and got a single form for me to sign stating they’re giving me 4 x $20 and 2 x $10 notes, then quizzed about my large savings account and I said no I’m not looking for a home loan right now, then he just walked me to the teller which I’d been sitting next to who had been there with no line in front of her for the entire time I was there and she sold me the cash.
