new innovation team that will infuse its printers and conference room kit with AI
We all know that nobody asked for this, the only saving grace here is that both HP and Humane are incompetent
- Comment on Larry Ellison wants to put all US data in one big AI system • The Register 1 month ago:
This is such a stupid idea, it could have only come from Larry Ellison. I guess you would need everything tied together so that you can watch every person all the time in every place.

Larry Ellison read 1984 and said “This government isn’t surveilling people enough”

Americans aren’t actually that litigious. This perception was created as part of a public misinformation campaign by McDonalds to try to win sympathy when they made their coffee way hotter than it should have ever been, and were sued when a customer had their labia fused together when the coffee spilled in their lap.

- Comment on Why is it considered sexist to ask women to smile? 2 months ago:

I would agree that people look better when they smile, but I think that it is considered sexist because women are asked to smile where men are not, in similar situations. I believe that women feel it is controlling, and since it’s requested/required of women more often then men, their perspective is that it is sexist.
Would you feel okay with a woman asking you to flex? I would, but if it became something that happened on a regular basis, I think it would quickly become annoying to me.

I have installed a bidet in every single property I’ve rented. It takes 5 minutes, and all the parts come in the box to split the water supply.
I literally cannot imagine why you think this requires renovation of a bathroom.

It might be useful if they had bothered to link to the report they’re referencing, or maybe even tell us who made the report.

Well yeah, driving people to quit to save money on severance from the impending layoffs is the whole point of forcing them to return to the office

Agreed - they want your money here, not your liberty.

I believe it’s to protect the prongs from getting damaged during shipping - and if the container gets rained on or something, it could provide some protection from that

Shortage of skilled workers? Better drive them off even harder, I guess

A bunch of cops showing up at your door is the way the state indicates they are here to personally harm you. I would much rather go out bleeding in my house than getting locked inside of a cage for decades.

“Temporarily” take away their rights.
They’re from the government, and they’re here to help, right?

From my cold, dead hands.
I can’t imagine what made 35 people who were targeted by their government give up their best protection from the government.
