The worst thing about that Onion article was the abuse of the Arabic script, otherwise a timeless piece of prescient satire.

While it is not the point, I am curious if his colleague is white or not. Is ICE targeting all foreigners or just the non-white-Europeans?
- Comment on Why aren't there mass protests in the USA? 6 days ago:
Some states also have laws that allow drivers to run over protesters
- Comment on Anon is waiting for Japan 6 days ago:
The Plaza Accord happened. Japan was also demonized in media and politics like China is now.
- Comment on PC gamers spend 92% of their time on older games, oh and there are apparently 908 million of us now 1 week ago:
My most played game in my Steam library is Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus which came out in 2013.
- Comment on Do you think the US will actually log its national parks? 2 weeks ago:
No you aren’t overreacting. Republicans have been running on some version of this for decades now.

If an automatic is good enough for the 70 Series Land Cruiser, it is good enough for me.

I actually like the volume knob shifter. The buttons ones I can live without.
- Comment on dear republicans, what's the point of alienating every single ally of the US? 3 weeks ago:
The Sassanians alienated their Lakhmid allies -forcefully annexed them and slaughtered their ruling dynasty-. Everyone knows what happened to the Sassanians not too long afterwards.
Who knows if history will repeat itself but worth waiting and finding out.
- Comment on fuck this asshole 3 weeks ago:
Trump is worse I never said otherwise. My point isn’t that Republicans aren’t worse, but that the Democrats failed to live up to expectations of their constituents and helped lead us down this path.
- Comment on fuck this asshole 3 weeks ago:
I remember when the Democrats brought down the hammer hard on anti-genocide protestors in universities. Trump is doing the same, but expanding it to all protests.

Yes, it is more inclusive.

“Touch grass” is exclusionary and divisive. I asked Copilot to explain why.
The expression “touch grass,” often used to suggest someone take a break and reconnect with nature, can unintentionally be exclusionary, especially for people living in arid regions where grass is not readily available. For instance, in parts of the Middle East, where the landscape is predominantly desert, grass is a scarce resource and the idea of “touching grass” might feel disconnected from reality. This phrase overlooks the diverse ways people around the world engage with their environment and can unintentionally alienate those who don’t have easy access to grassy areas. It’s a reminder that language should be mindful of diverse experiences and environments.

Xenogears is the best game, or at least JRPG, I ever played and I played over 40 JRPGs from the 8bit era to the modern era. There might be a better JRPG out there but I haven’t played it yet.

Some US states already have more restrictive abortion laws than Saudi Arabia, so why not Internet laws too.
- Comment on Anon experiences freedom 4 weeks ago:
Given how close most elections are and the low turnout, I would say at least 40% of voters and 50% of the population didn’t vote for this without even having to look at the election results.

- Comment on Sooo, where did the blatant Nazism suddenly come from? 4 weeks ago:
It begins by realizing that economics is also politics. The US ran out of indigenous peoples and lands to exploit, so it is turning inwards.
There are many books one could recommend. But an easy one to understand is: Irregular Army: How the US Military Recruited Neo-Nazis, Gang Members, and Criminals to Fight the War on Terror, this book was published in 2012.
- Comment on Facepalm on multiple levels 5 weeks ago:
The US constitution has amendments canceling amendments, more specifically the 21st repealing the 18th. Legally it is possible to repeal the 22nd, but the votes aren’t there… yet.
- Comment on So, is the USA screwed? 5 weeks ago:
Fewer strings also means China doesn’t care about democracy, human rights, and such.
Neither does Western powers. Their support for the genocide in Gaza proves as much.
- Comment on So, is the USA screwed? 5 weeks ago:
What’s wrong with building infrastructure? Nothing stopping the West from offering an alternative development plan.
Instead when the US invaded Iraq it destroyed its infrastructure and opposed any plan to rebuild Iraq. China now is helping rebuild Iraq. Just one example of plenty.
- Comment on So, is the USA screwed? 5 weeks ago:
China is focusing on itself, maybe that’s what the US and Europe should do for a while.

I have an XBox Series S that I purchased using Microsoft Rewards points, but over the past year I decided to boycott Microsoft for a myriad of reasons and stopped buying games for it and switched to Playstation, Switch and Steam as my platforms of choice for new game purchases. I still have a massive library for XBox so I will still be playing on it for years to come.
