While I agree, it’s also a chicken and egg problem. How can more money flow if they don’t make it easy? Even just endorsing Heroic and providing them some APIs would work
- Comment on Why is it sometimes difficult to start doing what one enjoys? 1 week ago:
In a world where everything is optimised to give you immediate rewards and happiness an act that is a bit frustrating to start with or that requires a modicum of effort will lose out to those temptations, unless you make an extra effort to stick to a schedule to rewire your brain to get used to it as part of a routine

Hey you should look into darktable, it’s got a different learning curve from regular photo editing software but it’s really nice to use. Alternatively Rawtherapee is closer to lightroom in UX. Both FOSS

Woww 48.1 truly is sooo far away from 50% and not at all within a margin of error.
You know what they meant, don’t be pedantic.
- Comment on How do you think smartphone manufacturers will comply with EU's replaceable battery regulation? 3 weeks ago:
Thinner* since there are people actually wanting smaller phones (and I have a jack on my zenphone 10 so size isn’t an issue), they’ve been blaming thinness and water resistance for the drop of the jack

“dummy” name calling? Hahaha

I know dummy, I meant the ad supplying platforms reviewing them
- Comment on Please allow ads! JK, you need to subscribe, too! LOL 5 weeks ago:
I didn’t say ads can’t contain malware, but it’s a bit of a “(some) internet malware is ads, but not all ads are malware” scenario, it’s very dependent on who they get the ads from and how tight those ads get reviewed. Broad statements like that are just ignorant, and I say that as someone who uses an adblock on all of their devices.

That’s just arguing in bad faith, unless you can at least demonstrate that this particular journal has copied their articles in the past.
Even if you were to entertain that thought however it doesn’t make them any more guilty of “terrorism” like op called them

Saying that based on…?
- Comment on Please allow ads! JK, you need to subscribe, too! LOL 5 weeks ago:
Big reach from running ads to it being malware

Calling a news site terrorist for asking for payment for the articles they write in the current political landscape sounds so… first-world-problems.

Ok but that’s about overall air pollution, while air pollution around schools is going to reduce that it’s not addressing the entire issue those stats are based on

Whataboutism, and I’d argue vapes and cigarettes are more damaging long term than cars passing by

It’s a good thing we’ve got people like you making that choice instead of leaving it to everyone to decide

Careful with those, almost started a house fire once because the connection wasn’t as tight as it needed to be. With it being magnetic and carrying power you into the risk of metal debris magnetising itself on it and completing a circuit

I mean does this burn all copies of the “movie” in existence? Does this “remove” this project from ever being circulated and punish those who do it to the full extent of the law? Cause I don’t think so, so stop trying to liken my disapproval of word soup generation being called “art” with nazism and fascist ideology.
Also I can literally turn that point back to you, who are you to decide what is art? We’re literally Lemmy users arguing shit online, don’t try to take the high horse.

- Comment on Energy bills in Great Britain rise by 5% as price cap increases 1 year ago:
That wasn’t the original intent of the measure though afaik, it was to regulate third parties so they don’t overcharge. Yet here we are, utilities companies charging ever higher prices and also reporting ever higher profits.
