Every time I see this opinion being shared I just imagine a tiny, angry Tim Sweeney throwing a tantrum because Valve bad. Why? Because… Because I said so, okay?!

I’ve been playing since the last round of beta invites, and I love it. Everything’s pretty intuitive so far, and I find myself moving around more to give me those steps. Can’t wait to see what comes next!!

- Comment on How The Forbidden Fruit Became an Apple 3 months ago:
Interesting video. I think I’ve heard of it as an apple growing up in a Christian household.
Semi related, but I enjoy the Gnostic interpretation of the Forbidden Fruit story, in which the Serpent (aka Lucifer) tempts Eve with the fruit of knowledge to achieve Gnosis, so she may learn the true meaning of their existence (the understanding that God is not their true creator). This paints Lucifer as the hero and God, or Yaldabaoth in Gnosticism, as the villain.
- Comment on Devs should not be "forced to run on a treadmill until their mental or physical health breaks", says publisher of Manor Lords, citing how gamers seem to be trained to expect endless content work now 3 months ago:
Basically, yeah. If your game is in a playable state, launching in early access allows devs to get feedback from the community, who help shape the game all the way to the full release. Generally EA games are discounted, with the expectation that it isn’t finished or polished, full of bugs, etc.
- Comment on Remember when planes and hospitals had smoking sections? (Probably a lot of you do not). 3 months ago:
In early high school (15~ years ago), I went with my girlfriend at the time and her family to a local restaurant that still had one of the only smoking sections left in the city. All of her family smoked, and I couldn’t even enjoy my meal because my senses were overloaded by cigarettes. It was horrible and I’m so thankful we removed smoking indoors in the states.

I thought some platforms (particularly Facebook/Instagram) will parse images for “bad” words and throttle the engagement of those posts, so people have taken to censoring themselves to avoid that.

- Comment on Anon is a fish 4 months ago:
I did theatre in high school (a decade ago) and we performed the straight play The Boys Next Door, a story about four intellectually disabled men living together with the help of their caretaker. The original show was written circa 1988, and uses “retarded” as the word to describe the men. Obviously for a high school play, we couldn’t use that.
Our director interfaced with a local group to determine what the correct terminology should be, and over the course of rehearsal, we changed the phrase from mentally challenged to intellectually challenged to intellectually disabled. It was important to us to make sure we got it right, but it was also surprising that the term changed very quickly.
Not sure what the politically correct term is nowadays, I try and avoid the R slur. Point is, this is a dumb greentext among the many I have saved; I Guess I could have picked a different one.

Just played through Borderlands 3 (again) with a friend where this happens frequently. We MELTED the bosses, but then the main villains show up to fuck up the NPC allies. Uh, hello, our characters are technically standing right there. Why aren’t we stopping them?

It appears that Steam had delisted the game in countries that PSN is not available in.

I used to be a big hater of Crocs. Ugly, rubbery, cheap looking things that anyone should be ashamed of wearing.
I needed a new pair of shoes for a new little garden patio we did up. On a whim, I tried a pair of Crocs (with semi-ironic weed leaf print), and honestly? They’re pretty good shoes. I wear em when I do other various chores that might have me going outside.

I live in the US. Last year I had a wisdom tooth removal and was prescribed Hydrocodone, like you.
I took one and it made me sick, so I didn’t take the rest. They’re still in my medicine cabinet and won’t ever be touched, I’m sure. No one has come after me for it.

- Comment on Do you ever worry that you're secretly a psychopath that unknowingly manipulates people around you? 7 months ago:
Gaslighting is the process of making someone question their own beliefs. It’s usually seen in the context of abusive relationships, but any person can gaslight any other person in whatever context (i.e., politics, etc).
