There will definitely be ppl offended by “death to Russians” and I find it highly questionable, because there are a few hundred good russians who haven’t been killed in the gulags so far and they do not deserve being slaughtered with the rest.

Every writer of short stories knows the struggle. You can’t name them all “Nina” or “Summer Camp” 😅

I’m pretty sure Puss In Boots, originally from 1550 Europe, is completely unrelated to Zorro, which even plays in a colonial region that didn’t exist before 1800.

“burger” isn’t a meat name tho. it’s a grilled or fried patty, maybe served in a sandwich

- Comment on It is only half greentext, though amusing 5 weeks ago:
if someone thinks that’s rude, they were lucky to have no actually rude coworkers.
i had some who would change other peoples chair adjustments every day, steal food, poison other peoples plants or boop passing by coworkers in the sides/ribs forcefully when passing by.

- Comment on I thought I was growing up in a racially tolerant Britain. I now realise I was wrong 2 months ago:
I think it’s still progress, if something forces the racists into hiding, but it should stay that way. If they come creeping out of their holes again, it sucks big time.

yeah, arriving illegally with boats in a port is surprisingly easy almost everywhere. I suspect it’s because the rich people would get annoyed on their yachts when the procedures are too strict.
Same with private jets/planes. If you charter your own plane, you usually board/exit through a smaller, less strict terminal. AFAIK it’s unlikely someone even checks your luggage or pats you down. They’ll likely just check passports.

I know that feel. Went to a 1€-Store to buy cheap supplies for the new home when I moved and several things there were more. Still, the stuff I needed I got fir 1€ (trashcans, coat hangers, sponges and brushes)

I didn’t even know there is undyed cheddar. Cheddar is a bit looked down on in my region, as we have very good local cheeses as well as imports from our EU neighbours. I’ve heard americans call Stilton and Gorgonzola “blue cheese”. It’s very confusing; they are different in many ways.
- Comment on Where will it stop ? 3 months ago:
It’s always fascinating to me how Americans name cheeses by color. I guess white is mozarella? Feta and goat cheeses are also white, but I doubt they go on pizza.

I haven’t listened to radio in >10 years, but back in the day they had a bunch of pre-recorded station ID messages like this in Germany, France and some African countries.
