I mean the government could open up facilities for cooking meals or processing food for cold storage that would otherwise be thrown out, and regulate both farming and grocery stores so that anything that would get wasted instead goes to feed homeless people or something. Its a massive yeah right though. All industrial farming has done on this side of this rock is pump us full of ready roundup and microplastics, crush small independent grocers, drive up water and other resource consumption, and people are still going hungry regularly. Corporate america will never let people be happy and healthy without wealth divisions on this continent, and likely as much of the others as can be influenced.

When I was younger and had more time to not worry about merely existing, I used to enjoy chasing the updates and trying to find every glitch and exploit and do as much silly shit as possible before patches went live.

Well the trailer wasn’t what I was expecting. The modern city backdrops seem a bit odd. I guess if the story works it could be okay but it feels kinda mismatched asset flip from the trailer alone.

- Comment on LCD displays still don't match the responsiveness of clunky CRT screens (2019) 4 weeks ago:
One of my friemds got that expensive whatchamacallit thingy to fake scanlines and other CRT visuals and one of those stupidly expensive oleds and it looks genuinely amazing for retro games. Its like nostalgia put through a refinery plant and look better than the CRTs we had been using throughout our school years. The CRTs actually got worse and became reddish so it could be an unfair comparison but I don’t think anyone makes new CRTs. Responsiveness is something that I can notice but often don’t unless its particularly bad.

Isn’t that a bad thing? I thought that was the whole point, if you separate the part where the guy was just doing a social experiment to see if people would buy into total nonsense.

Its a roll of solder which is melted to stick certain metals together and probably most well known for being used to stick electronic parts together. If you stab the soldering iron through it like this the roll would melt into itself and you would have to cut the strands off of the glob and use the cut pieces or just waste it and get a new one.
