- Comment on Experts urge caution over use of Chinese AI DeepSeek 3 days ago:
I wanted to try to ask it about Tianamun Square last week, but they had already blocked new users.
- Comment on WH Smith in secret talks to sell historic high street arm 5 days ago:
If I understand correctly, this sale explicitly won’t include shops in stations, airports etc. The high street shops are more or less worthless in my opinion.
- Comment on Anon doesn't wash 3 weeks ago:
Fucking hell.
Gordon Ramsey, is that you?
- Comment on Why do people say things like "I didn't do nothing"? 1 month ago:
I think you have this back to front. The grammar rules were written long after the language was spoken. Their purpose is to describe how language is actually used. Language evolves, though, so grammar must evolve too.
- Comment on T-Pain sings War Pigs 1 month ago:
Not bad? I’m no fan of T Pain, and kind of so-so with Sabbath - but this was a great cover version. Amazing musicians really milking that tune for all its worth.
- Comment on Kate Nash and Lily Allen on OnlyFans should be a wake-up call for the music industry 2 months ago:
Part of the point is that touring and gigs are no longer profitable either.
- Comment on If a leftist ran for president, would liberals support him? 2 months ago:
Maybe, but that’s not the question.

I think you underestimate them. And if they do, who will you complain to anyway?

It worked for his pal, Putin…
- Comment on How do Americans win their country back? 2 months ago:
I don’t think they need a constitutional amendment, just Scotus ruling that it only applies to consecutive terms, for example.
- Comment on How do Americans win their country back? 2 months ago:
I fear that the next election will be more ceremony than democracy once they have finished rigging it. At this point, I expect a third term for Trump - if he lives that long.

- Comment on Ucas plans to drop personal statements for UK university applicants 6 months ago:
Or lovely but poor parents. I hated the whole gap year culture when I went to University. Everyone carried on like they were so cool. No, you weren’t, you were just rich enough to afford flights and to do fuck all for a year.
- Comment on Exit poll: Labour to win landslide in general election 6 months ago:
I disagree. The meteoric rise of Reform indicates that a large part of the country is moving further right, not left. In contrast, the gains by Labour in terms of votes were not what I had hoped for. What turned this into a land slide was reform splitting the right wing vote.
We/you need to spend the next 5 years addressing that problem or there are indeed bad times ahead.
- Comment on Let's address the significant issue confronting the nation today.. Which Mr/Mrs Men are you? 6 months ago:
Still Mr. Clumsy.

Mostly, he’s been doing the dirty work for Russia.
- Comment on Julian Assange leaves UK after being freed in US plea deal - BBC News 7 months ago:
Yeah… I’ve very mixed feelings about this. On paper, wikileaks was a force for good, but it got taken over by far right/Russian assets.

- Comment on If somebody spends the whole day watching fox or religious propaganda, gets worked up and all he can think of is owning a liberal or converting an unbeliever, is this person a victim or just gullible? 8 months ago:
Honestly, I think there is a real problem with infantilisation - and (Warning: unpopular opinion) a large part of this is the marvel films and manga trend. Those always over simplify every problem to a short, violent solution.

Crumpets are great, so take the wins where you can!
- Comment on RAF fighter jets deployed to shoot down Iran drones, MoD says 9 months ago:
Iran surely got a lot of nuclear know how from Russia in return for drones. I wouldn’t want to bet that they don’t have nuclear weapons at this point.

I hope this is good news… but could this be an indicator of an economic downturn?
