I like star trek starfleet academy for the most part. What I don’t like about the show is that I can’t watch it with my kids yet.

Agreed

I though the main criticism of the new shows was the lack of lighting? I really miss the lighting in the older shows… :(
- Comment on I can be considered Trekkie or just a viewer? 2 weeks ago:
You can get by with just watching a few of the movies from the original series cast. If you want to get more back story then watch the show. There are episode lists for the original series that likely make it more digestible, but if you watched ds9, did you try to watch “The trouble with tribbles”? That’s the episode the ds9 cast goes to.
I like enterprise over strange new worlds.
I think being a trekkie is not black and white. There are levels of fandom you will likely never reach, which of fine. I consider my self a Trekkie by the definition of I’ll watch nearly anything star trek related (sorry the new kids show is a pass) and will get excited when i can talk to anyone about star trek.
Good luck on your journey!

While I love a good debate episode of start trek, this one was a missed opportunity to make parallel to some current event. Good otherwise and agree with others that the end was eh, but I’ll take it.

First episode was a bit rough at the start, but the second and third are pretty decent. While this isn’t really trekking beyond the campus right now, I just wonder where this show will go at it progresses.
Episode three is definitely strong (so far) and keeps pace with the end of episode two. I like that there are a few extras on the team at the end of the episode. Are we getting some red shirts ready? 😃
I’ll be watching for more. 👍

i picked up a free protector that’s only 720 resolution and works perfectly for watching movies. just find an affordable one used and you’ll do fine. Don’t forget to check thrift stores.

- Comment on If we replace most plastic with a non plastic alternative and would that really be better? 8 months ago:
Soda steam (and similar products) have likely saved a lot of plastic bottles from being purchased. This product doesn’t save money, I think it’ll should work out to the same costs for anyone that drinks a lot of bubbly drinks.

We just need more star trek memes to take over and we’ll save star trek

- Comment on Interview: Alex Kurtzman on Section 31 and the "evolution" of Star Trek 1 year ago:
See like a pass for now, we watched the first episode and there was some interest, but have not been asked for since. Will try again in a few months and see what happens. I personally am curious about the show, but will wait to watch together.
- Comment on Interview: Alex Kurtzman on Section 31 and the "evolution" of Star Trek 1 year ago:
I started to watch prodigy, the first episode, but wasn’t motivated enough to go beyond a few minutes. I should give it another try, as it’s the only new star trek for the family to watch.
Strange new worlds might work, but due to how dark (lighting) and how real the effects look, this show is still not as family as the original shows.
What I’m looking for is something I know my kids can watch without being a helicopter parent.
It’s hard to really describe, maybe I’m getting old… 👴
- Comment on Interview: Alex Kurtzman on Section 31 and the "evolution" of Star Trek 1 year ago:
Can we get some Star Trek I can watch with my kids around? I have to stick with classic trek (everything from Enterprise and earlier) as there isn’t an option. Sure Prodigy does exist, but I don’t know if I can get into that show myself.
Rant over…
They can make Section 31 content all they want, I don’t care, just make it good enough to watch. Hell, just take the book series and make a mini series based on those stories.
- Comment on "Section 31" early review round-up 1 year ago:
Maybe they didn’t watch it? I failed to get past 20 minutes.
