- Comment on Why do people insist on not answering ALL the questions in an email or text message? 1 week ago:
Try being more direct, you can still write out your whole email with the full description, but put in a section somewhere that’s easy to see that’s labeled as “QUESTIONS” and then enumerate the questions you want answered. I often will have the whole section bold and further highlight important words in red. This makes it easier for people to answer inline on the reply and helps ensure questions weren’t missed.
The truth is, most people don’t like the ‘email’ part of the job and may only check it once or twice a day and I’d most likely just skimming through several messages and not fully devoting much time to each message. By making it easier for them to reply you end up with a better result.
You can also use this when you expect someone to take action from your email. Let them know precisely what you want them to do, and make it very easy to find ‘The Ask’.

Steep (snowboarding, skiing, paragliding, wingsuiting) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (fast travel is an option, but come on, enjoy that ride!) are the two that I really enjoy.
- Comment on Teachers warn AI is impacting students' critical thinking 2 weeks ago:
I never said that it was a new thing, what I’m saying is that the introduction of AI in the classroom is the perfect way to bring critical thinking back to the classroom. That’s one thing that AI is good at… getting people to realize that something they’ve just been told might not be 100% true.
- Comment on Teachers warn AI is impacting students' critical thinking 2 weeks ago:
It is impacting their critical thinking because the teachers aren’t teaching the kids how to use AI!
My kids came home talking about an interview she did with one of her heroes. She knew all kinds of facts, including what type of dogs her hero has. I had to explain to my 8 year old that an AI doesn’t know very much, but it will never tell you that it doesn’t know something.
I don’t mind that my kid’s school uses AI for learning, but I am pissed at how they are using it the exact wrong way. It should go side by side with learning critical thinking.

What’s the point in labeling something that’s obvious?
- Comment on You better say "Thank You"! 4 weeks ago:
Here in the Midwest we generally have our family egg for lunch on Sunday. Ever since Grandad passed we’ve been able to make thicker slices, but Sissy’s little one is getting to the age that we’re going to have to go back to thinner slices soon. We’re just fortunate that we’re able to get our weekly egg, so we’re not complaining.

Today I was given a 1.3% raise and my 10% bonus was funded at 6%. Immediately after I was told that someone told me they were about to do something that could end up costing the company around $50k. I didn’t stop them.

so if I use an AI engine to do in-painting on an existing image, then that’s fine? This image is AI enhanced: Image
Would it need to be tagged? (obviously should be tagged NSFL)

- Comment on WSJ: Trump Is Right on H-1B Visas 3 months ago:
He is right that the H-1B visas are good for businesses and shareholders. But they aren’t good for American workers since it lowers the wages for everyone, and they can be bad for the foreign workers since it makes it very difficult for them to leave a bad job.

This looks really interesting, so if I have a folder on a computer and I have it setup to share, then any time something gets added to that folder then is it automatically updated for anyone with the link?
Also, where should people go to help, or find out how to help?
- Comment on Why do some men dis other men who sit to pee? (& follow-up questions) 5 months ago:
Do you guys often miss while standing and, if you do, not clean up after? Yes… and, sadly, not always. Just take a look around a urinal (which shouldn’t be difficult at all to miss) and I don’t think this is just a ‘me’ issue.
When you’re sitting do you not have an issue with the pee splashing UP the side of the bowl onto the seat? I have this happen often. The biggest issue I typically have is the toilet water is really cold if I accidentally hang down into it, but I normally don’t have a problem with pee hitting the sides of the bowl.

- Comment on Why do some men dis other men who sit to pee? (& follow-up questions) 5 months ago:
I’ve only been questioned once about sitting to pee… it was after about 10 years of being married. My wife asked one day if I sit while peeing at home, and when I told her that I do she said “I’ve always wondered why there isn’t pee all over our bathrooms”.
- Comment on Why do some men dis other men who sit to pee? (& follow-up questions) 5 months ago:
No, more like using a pen to write about how important the 2nd amendment is, without actually needing to own a gun first.
But, like, what point do you think I was trying to make? That if I don’t sit down to pee then I won’t be able to pee standing? I’m really confused at your attempt to shoehorn politics into a conversation about piss.
- Comment on Why do some men dis other men who sit to pee? (& follow-up questions) 5 months ago:
I always sit to pee when I’m at home, mostly so I don’t have to worry about spray/drippage/seat positions, but I also believe that men have this amazing power where we have the ability to stand and pee… and I think the biggest flex you can make when you have amazing power is to only use that power when it makes sense. Restraint is power.
- Comment on Patient gamer philosophy 6 months ago:
I agree, this is why I consider myself a ‘patient gamer’… I don’t want to reward releasing half-done games, or trickling out DLC that should have been included in the original release.
I had to re-evaluate my stance on this when Baldur’s Gate 3 was released because I really wanted to play it, but was going to wait until it went on sale. Then the reviews starting coming in saying that it was a full game, no major issues, and no planned DLC. I immediately purchased it because **THAT **is the behavior I want to reward, and I’m very glad that I did.

- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 'Isn't Going to be on Game Pass', Insists Larian Boss 1 year ago:
I agree, I was of the mindset that I wasn’t going to buy it at launch because too many games are broken at launch, but then I the reviews were all great, and I learned that there would be no microtranactions and I realized that this is the type of game I want to reward by buying early and paying full price. I’ve not been disappointed.
