They will just pay the fines and do what they want.

It’s just another expense for them. A cost of doing business, nothing else. Maybe they estimated that a delayed project will cost 100x more, so it’s cheaper to break some laws and finish up a bit earlier.
Truly arrogant and revolting, but it kinda makes sense if you think like a psychopath.

“Sorry we couldn’t interpret the laws correctly” says the company that has an army of lawyers expert in international law.

Pretending you don’t understand the law and taking a fine is way better for them than allowing the environmental study to show how much damage they were about to cause. Sucks that governments use piddling fines as “punishment” rather than arresting the executives who knowingly ordered disobeying the laws and sanctioning the company so they can never build in their country again.

I’m not sure what they expected given all the news of our data center fights here in the US. I wish them all the luck in getting rid of these pests.

All these companies care about is money.
The only effective strategy to deter this kind of behavior is to make them pay fines that outweigh the amount of money they make by breaking the law.

Rescind the permits to build. Don’t let them have the land. Make all future building permits dependent on previous ones not being shady.
