  With the caveat that it’s been a minute since I was there, at low speed there was absolutely nothing. I looked up and saw we were moving; until that moment, I didn’t even realize we were underway.

  I vaguely recall some noise and vibration at speed, but it was relatively quite quiet.

  I took an electric ferry on a visit to Norway. I didn’t know it was electric until we started moving, dead silent–I had been fully prepared for the smell and sound of a massive diesel motor.

  Looking back at the dock I saw the big mother cable that was used for charging the thing. Absolutely bonkers. And that was small potatoes compared to this one.

  I’ll readily admit FF has problems. But it’s most definitely MHO that Google is far, far more evil. It’s not clear why they fund FF other than the antitrust angle.

  Which is great, for sure. But, additionally, I’m unwilling to go back to a single engine ecosystem, especially not one with Google’s hands on it. I still remember coding around IE6. 😅

  Nostalgic AF. Honestly, though, uBO (desktop and mobile) is the killer feature of FF over Chrome. Haven’t touched Chrome in years.

  A trick you can use there is to form the connection with different intent, e.g. to learn more about the field. Maybe it leads to something and maybe it doesn’t, but at least you learned something.

  I agree with you, but true free speech also gives Facebook the right to choose its own themes. I’d vote with my feet on this one, but I already abandoned Facebook years ago.

  I can’t, unfortunately. I still have an old Smart TV that isn’t too offensive and doesn’t show me ads. If it starts showing me ads sometime, then it’s gone. But I’m not really a videophile and I’ll watch shows on anything so I haven’t really looked at what’s better, only at what’s cheapest. I do hear it can be tricky because the commercial displays are meant to be brighter than TVs and maybe it can be hard to get them dialed in the way you want.
