Such as using a platform like fiverr for example, is it worth trying or should i stay away? I want to do basic tasks but i dont have a anything yet to showcase. So it may be a bad idea but at the same time i want/need money. I know i could get a job but im in a point in life where i feel i am unable to.

What kind of freelance? That doesn’t give us a lot to to on. You say basic tasks but that means nothing.
Which kind of skill do you have ?
How does welfare/unemployement works in your country ?
How are self-employed side gigs taxed in your country ?
You can try it, but it seems to me that you would have to hustle for clients and promote yourself just to complete super cheap tasks.
I am a small business owner, and I’ve used Fiverr for various things, but they were mostly under $50, and I only picked people with a high rating and many projects under their belt.
IMO, would be competing with freelancers from countries with a much cheaper cost of living for low-skill tasks.
If you have time and opportunity to learn some web design and/or SEO, you could target local businesses who don’t have a good online presence. You don’t even need to code, just learn Squarespace/Wordpress/Wix. I’m a therapist, and there are plenty of therapists who don’t know what they are doing in this area and need help.
You could also try being a virtual assistant. Again, you’d have to compete against people from lower cost of living areas. But there is a demand for VAs that are actually good.
Overall, online freelancing is a very competitive industry, especially if you don’t have some special marketable skills, because anyone in the world can do it.
If you are good with animals I recommend pet sitting. There’s websites for that where I am. I do pet sitting by word of mouth rather than on the website, but it is pretty dope and chill. If you really get into it, you can get a first aid pet license and charge more too.
It will not replace a full time income but it’s nice bonus money.
Be mindfulnof scammers. Keep receipts, document everything, etc

You right, but i was hoping someone could provide insight on how the platform compares to others platforms/ways to earn.
If this makes sense i think im just afraid of failing or giving up.

No need to overthink reversible decisions. You’re not signing up for a platform for life. If it seems bad then you switch, or if it simply doesn’t work out then you go do something else. You’re not dooming the rest of your life here.
You won’t regret trying and failing but you will regret not even giving it a chance.
