  Hmm.

  • AI bots clearly haven’t taken over yet and I don’t think they ever will, in a SkyNet sort of meaning. BUT it is important to point out the dangers, agentic or not!
  • The government of the USA objectively hasn’t collapsed yet. But it could happen any day now. And again, it is important to raise awareness of how dysfunctional it has become.

  I can think of many more examples of “bad stuff”, each different.
  What they have in common is that people warn about them in terms “we’re on the verge of desaster” because that’s one way to raise awareness of looming danger while at the same time stressing that we can still do something to avoid it.
