  The call to action for their product, “protect your identity now,” makes me extremely suspicious of the entire thing.

    I think it’s legit. The site doesn’t seem to be selliing anything.

    Here are their tips:

    1. Freeze your credit
    2. Review your credit report
    3. Keep track of you finances by turning on alerts and checking your statements.
    4. Report identitiy theft to your government.

  Another classic instance of North American centrism bites again... Don't worry, you're license is not likely to be for sale on the dark web if you recently rented a car or bought weed anywhere in the world outside of US or Canada.

  I bought a car and rented a weed last week, so luckily my identity Gavin Belltower of 55 West Pine Knoll Lane SSN 347-20-3802 and pass word I use on all the sites is mother’s maiden name, Minlow, plus my favorite number 89 … Should be safe. Completely safe. Yes sir.

  Are people getting their IDs scanned at weed shops? I feel like if a weed shop wanted to scan my ID id tell them to get fucked and go 10 minutes away to the next weedshop.

    Having been to quite a few week shops across Michigan and Ohio, you’d just be unable to buy weed, and once you’ve refused and made a mild scene, they’re calling all the weed shops in the area with your description to tell them you’re acting suspicious.

    While I’m not a fan of the practice, it’s basically impossible to buy from a dispensary in many places without them wanting to scan your ID. Especially if your state has limits on how much you can buy per month.

    ID scanning has become very common in Texas. Lowers insurance rates for sellers and gives the state a full database of alcohol purchases.
