I just created a community where I will post my progress on learning electricity. I want to be the only one who can post posts, but I want other people to be able to comment on my posts. Is this the right way to do it, or does this setting also disable comments?
Are you sure Piefed should be repurposed for a personal blog over using Pixelfed or another blogging platform?
I’ve seen some blogs using threadiverse posts as their basis, and honestly I don’t se many downsides. The content can be spread around the fediverse if people find it interesting, markdown allows for all kinds of text, it’s long form by nature, and the comment section is integrated into the whole thing.
Pixelfed is for pictures, not blogs. Write.as would be a more natural (but probably less social) alternative.
