I can upvote this one in spirit. I started with a distro based on Slackware around 1998. I tried different ones like Mandrake, but went back to Slackware for a while. Then I tried Debian 2.2 in the early 2000 and stayed with it ever since.
I do have other distros installed on other computers, but I usually prefer those based on Debian.

I presume anyone old enough to start with slackware without auto dependency management and then use apt had a similar experience. I did :)

Apt blew my mind. It was becoming increasingly difficult to install and maintain a lot of software on Slackware, just for my personal computer. So when a friend showed me Debian and apt, everything was suddenly much much easier.

Honestly, fair.
My only issue with it is the conflicting answers you get with apt vs apt-get vs whatever the 3rd option is, and the 6 different valid commands for upgrading your system, that also have conflicting answers on which is ‘correct’.
That, and yay -Sy is way more fun to type, and shorter.

if we’re talking about fun commands, my aliases for adding/removing packages are gimme/yeet.

I installed Fedora Core 1 back when it was released around 2000. I’m currently running Fedora 44.
