EverQuest legends release on July 28th

Eq legends is a remixed re-release of EverQuest 1 with some modified dungeons and loot, focus more on single player experience with 3x class per character, instanced zones with difficulty selector, etc. I’m curious if anyone here is looking forward to playing, boycotting due to cash shop/daybreak/thj lawsuit etc, watching streams but not planning to play themselves, etc. price tag is 20usd for the game and first month then 10 per month subscription with time locked servers releasing Kunark planned for end of year I think.

Reeeeally shouldn’t have a recurring subscription. How much development is even going into this? Should be a one-time $30 and have the option for private servers. Like Minions of Mirth did 20 years ago.

BTW that game had the 3 classes system~

It will largely depend if they are using the 99 ui and control, or something modern.

After my best friend that I met playing EQ died a few years ago I started playing again a bit, but the ui and controls are so last century I could not keep doing it. Bit if it is modernized I still at least try.

OMFG… EQ is coming back.

While the grind in EQ was relentless, EQ sure was magic at times.

I doubt I will play it. My PC is too old for modern games.

  I had my run back in the original. Lots of fun times but the grind for the rogue was too much and it was such a broken and forgotten class.
  
  Was disappointed in EQ 2 and how it removed a lot of the danger factors that made EQ a legend, even if they were unfair. And the rogues were worse.
  
  Had a brief reliving of the nostalgia with the free servers, but because everyone was a twink and anything could be gained with money, it lost any joy I had from trying it again.
  
  This sounds worse. It's the original game, but made easy to play, and I guarantee none of the flaws are addressed. It's just trying to recapture memories while making it not group centered, which always discouraged casual players.

    I didn’t start playing until after The Ruins of Kunark was released.
    
    I started with Barbarian warrior, I learned the game mechanics with him and then later set him aside and played an Iksar Monk.
    
    And then I double boxed the Barbarian Warrior and a Halfling Druid. Damn those were good times. I was never much of a raider, I just couldn’t dedicate the time. But double boxing those two toons was a great way to waste a Saturday.
    
    EQ was addictive on a whole other level.
    
    I went into a Wizards of the Coast in 2002/2003 and there was a guy in there playing EQ. His toon’s name was an odd color. Another dude who was watching him play told me that you get that when you have logged 500 days played. 500 real life days. The game was just over three years old at that point. That means the guy has spent half of those three years logged into the game. I don’t know how that was even possible.
