Sometimes a gardener invents a word and scientists make it useful by redefining it. See “meme”.

Are you calling Dawkins a gardener and 4chan scientists?

Isn’t rather “meme” the refinement from “gene” (seeing as it was chosen to rhyme with gene)

Precisely. :)

But then all scientists would be called Homo sapiens

I think taxonomy is pseudoscience. Chickens are dinosaurs, humans are fish, there’s no such thing as trees, oranges are a hybrid, mules aren’t a species, and neanderthals are a species. It’s bunk.

You’re taking tongue-in-cheek pop culture factoids and your personal differences of opinion and using them to judge a field of science as fake.

Y’all, we found The Great Splitter, the one rumored to exist, whispered in phylogeny hallways to end classification forever.

Classification doesn’t actually increase your understanding. It just feels like understanding to white cultural values. Learn a serious field of biology like biochem, neuroscience, endocrinology, paleontology… taxonomy doesn’t create knowledge, it only creates categories.
