I'm not watching fifteen minutes of some rando's opinions. I hate fucking YouTube spammers.

I wish I had a YouTube account just to dislike this dude, but then it would be “engagement” and then YouTube will promote this a lot

I was really jazzed after the first 5 minutes, the opening monologue set it up so perfectly and I was waiting for a masterpiece of absurdity, I wanted to love it. A movie so bad & ridiculous it would flip poles and become good. Instead, it kind of meanders along throughout the whole movie, it was just kind of meh. Nothing stands out, it just sort of jumped from one “in-movie” scene to a crowd scene and sometimes the two intersected, but it just went on and on. I don’t even remember how it ends, I think they just stop it abruptly or something.

This movie was always going to be decisive because of the discussion surrounding it. Unfortunately, the plot of the movie itself is also just bad. Here’s a review I thought was very level headed from someone who liked the first one.

The original had the potential to be a good movie and could’ve setup Phase 4 to be a bit more focused and cohesive (had it setup Secret Invasion better), instead it sort of signaled the bad times ahead for the MCU and just made a mess of things. It only even did as good as it did at the box office because it was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame, most people probably went in thinking it would set something up related to the saga, but it really didn’t contribute much to the lore. If anything it made everything it touched worse off: Fury became a joke, the Skrulls turned good & became comic relief, and Capt. Marvel just felt like an unsympathetic character.
The Marvels movie combines three hero characters that nobody really cares about to fight a villain that nobody cares about with a nonsensical goal. The stuff that happened mostly off-screen, with Capt Marvel decapitating the Kree leadership and the resulting fallout would’ve made for a better movie.
Capt Marvel was the true villain of the Secret Invasion tv series, the one with actual super powers who could travel around to find a planet for the Skrulls… but didn’t… for reasons. Yet all the blame got pinned on Fury for some odd reason, the one person who couldn’t travel through interstellar space. Even the Skrulls had spaceships they could look with. That whole thing could’ve been handled so much better had they 1. Never made the skrulls into good guys, and 2. Seeded the story for Secret Invasion throughout phase four. All those skrull cameos should’ve had them taking over different characters, amping up the tension and setting the stage for Secret Invasion to be a finale. Instead we got whatever the hell all of that was.

I wish I had come to the comments first. This guy doesn’t say a damn thing about the movie and blames wokeness for pretty much everything

In a world where Kevin James Zookeeper exists, I highly doubt this is the worst movie ever lmao
