I’m talking about the fast, bouncy singing that the main vocalist does underneath all the electronic stuff.
I’m fairly certain I’ve heard it in other jazz or swing songs before, but there’s gotta be a more specific search term I can use, cause those are some pretty broad genres.
Sounds typical of the vocal stylings in Big Band/Swing.
The search term you’re looking for could be “electro swing”. I’m not sure you’ll find a specific term for singing in a fast bouncy way because that’s just what swing usually ends up being.
If you’re talking about the originating genre, it’s probably more in line with Big Band and Swing. That’s if you’re looking back to the 20’s-40’s for similar sounding stuff.
I did mean the older style they’re emulating, yeah. Maybe I wasn’t looking for old enough music, or looking too hard toward jazz. I’ll check those out, see if I can figure out what I heard before that sounded like this.

It’s called scat. The Andrews Sisters were famous for scat singing in the 1940s, but it came out of the original African American jazz singing of the 1900s.
