I had a cat problem?!!! Man! That was an expensive Samsung printer, but it did work OK for like a good 10 years. We’ll, from now on, I will remember its just a cat problem.

Obligatory fuck HP. Also, get an ink tank printer, changed my world for home printing, still only halfway through the first fill, after a couple of years and hundreds of pages.

Or get a black and white laser printer if you’re mainly printing text and not photos. Laser printed text is much sharper and more readable, plus the toner can’t dry up (it’s already a dry powder) the way ink does (this is why inkjet printers do so many “cleaning” cycles).

what printer brand/model do you recommend?

Mine happens to be an epsom ecotank, I’ve found the software ok, no weird behaviour or restrictions and the ink is lasting really well.

Occasionally creates a mess of horrific liquids in unexpected places
Will wake you up at random times with inexplicable noises
Will only accept extremely specific kinds of food
Will have an existential crises when another of its kind is introduced to the home environment
