We recently drove from NY to SF and back. Our kids loved Sinclairs lol

When we’re in the Mt West my young kids like the dinosaur gas stations. They may have come as far south as North Texas recently but I never see them very far east

Also - the top price on the sign is not $2.11 but 21 cents per gallon

You know Sinclair’s are still around right? Plus that dude looks like he has a selfie stick

I don’t think this is correct.

      • I did a few reverse image searches and found this image, but couldn’t really find any attribution. The timestamps on the results I found were quite old. Pretty sure this isn’t AI.

      • there’s a clearly visible Coca Cola bottle shown attached to the gas price sign. This style of bottle wasn’t produced until 1977. historyoasis.com/…/coca-cola-bottle-design-histor…

      • for gas to be 22 cents, this would need to be pre-1950’s. In 1977, gas was around $0.60 on average. energy.gov/…/fact-741-august-20-2012-historical-g…

I’m pretty sure this is a modern image and the price shown is $2.11 (and 9/10’s of a cent).

It also doesn’t really matter, those gas stations still exist in Colorado and they still have the big fiberglass dinosaurs hanging out. That picture could have been taken recently and still been roughly the same.

The prices are right there dude. 2.11 9/10 for regular, 2.21 for super, and 2.31 for premium.

Plus that style of clothing didn’t exist before the Oil Crisis of 1973, when gas was around a quarter per gallon.

The curvy Coke bottle with a screw top also dates this to the mid 90’s or later. Before then, Coke came in a straight sided plastic screw top bottle. The classic curved glass bottles had the pry-off metal bottle caps.

      It’s 21.1 and ⁹⁄₁₀ cents per gallon?
