So I’ve added lemmy.ml to my block list, but I still see posts from that instance on c/progressive_politics. Why? Is that not how blocking works?
Users are not blocked, which is strange, but I have the same issue/feature. Only instances are blocked. I guess they have a different definition of blocking than I have.
Yup, it would be much better if it just blocked all users from the instance as well.
You still see the users of the blocked instance if they post to a not blocked instance.
Why are you blocking lemmy.ml to begin with? Sure some of their users are annoying as fuck but you’ll find people like that anywhere online.
I can block anything I want to. That’s part of the point of the fediverse.

There are few things more annoying on lemmy than seeing a post about Russia on your feed, forgetting to check the instance, then getting your comment removed because you were critical of them.
Whatever do you mean? Russia is clearly a communist Utopia that invaded Ukraine to get the Nazis. With 100% legitimate elections that have no undue influence what so ever.
Sure, you’ll find them anywhere, but .ml and the tankie triad are a concentrated cesspool of them
they are just the mirror of conservatives. i blocked them too. but its the USers infiltrating that are the problem. sometimes they create a account in another instance and then post tankie comments.

Sadly the just blocking the instance, doesn’t block the users of said instance. You have to do that manually.
If it helps, just say bad shit about China and Russia, they’ll all flock to smugly quote some dumb shit from Stalin, and you can just block them all in a fell swoop.
