IMO we have had decades of iterative change and exploration, but no major shifts or innovations. Like there have been many takes on the sounds of a guitar, but when do we get to the age of distortion piano-ish thing but entirely different? It seems like most major cultural shifts come from the cauldron or crucible of hard times. We may be near such a nightmare, so what do our kids create from the ashes?
One thing I’ve seen as a new hotness in high art is that the themed experience is crossing the threshold from low art to high art. What would have been considered a theme park ride is now bring presented as an interactive experience worthy of being in a museum. Of course, you will have to exit through the gift shop.

Ive seen a big resurgence in real folk art. Especially something quality and handmade, though the “millenial grey” ubiquity does still hold reign, right alongside the favoritism towards “corpo grey” safety in design styles.
Must say though, many are opening up to real style and confidence in their purchases, of course that might be more blowback against mass manufactured goods too.
