Time to teach the kitty how to use the hammer in destructive but positive ways like busting down drywall for construction renovations.

Funny that anyone can walk down the street with a 2lb. hammer on their belt and not be seen as a threat carrying a deadly weapon.
CAVEAT: This likely doesn’t apply to Brits.
Dad could throw anything with scary force and precision. He was a felon, couldn’t have a gun, but karate was his thing, thought guns and knives were for cowards. Always said he liked to fight “belly button to belly button”. LOL, he kept a 3/4" wrench on his dashboard as a weapon. If you’ve never seen a man bury a Bowie knife in a tree, such that you can do pull ups on it, you might not believe me. :)
His drunk ass came into a convenience store and listened to a guy make sexually threatening remarks to the female cashier. Holding that wrench he flicked his wrist and shattered the front window, squared up on the guy. Dude split out, cashier was thankful, store owner called him to say thanks, but you gotta pay for the window. 😆
