When I was younger, I’d have thrown my support behind this.
Now that I’m older and world-wiser, I’m much less on board with that. Cannabis? Fine. Heroin? Whatever, you do you. Cocaine? Absolutely not. Not that I’m against cocaine, it’s just that people on cocaine are really, really annoying.

Right, but people take all those drugs anyway even though it is illegal.
All prohibition does is mean it’s unregulated, unsafe and a huge waste of policing resources and ruined lives (mostly via enforcement).
Drugs should be a health issue, not a policing one.

So you’re for criminalising alcohol use then?

No where in this text can I see a quote from him saying that he’d legalise all drugs. This “public health approach” sounds like decriminalisation, which is what I’d advocate for, but not legalisation, I don’t want to be seeing Tesco value acid available behind the counter, right?

Yes, I would want to see that, I don’t understand the objection.
Is Big Daz’s looney tabs, which are on offer from your local dealer currently, any better somehow?

I’d take some taste the difference ketamine while racking up lines with my club card.

Legalisation can mean lots of things, including legalised drugs sales only from specialised pharmacies. This is the kind of approach advocated by legalisation proponents. “Legalisation” doesn’t mean “available in Tesco”.
