    The Kaaba is a cube-shaped holy shrine in Mecca. If you look at photos of it, it’s usually covered in a black cloth and is surrounded by a huge crowd of Muslim pilgrims from all over the world. I think the joke is that the NIN stage curtains and the crowd make this photo look similar to those taken of the Kaaba in Mecca.

      Couldn’t that just apply to any concert that the band uses a curtain to cover the stage before they go on?
