Recent history has led me to be highly pessimistic about this being translated into positive life improvements for regular people ranger than simply further enriching and empowering billionaire lords and police and military megaaparati, but the people at BD seem to be genuinely interested in ensuring their inventions are firstly used for good, so that’s nice.

How soon can those help cleanup Fukushima and Tchernobyl?
I assume the high price and limitations would make them a hard sell for a typical factory. But those could be handy in places where humans can’t go safely.

Underwater welding, too. The compensation is insanely high because it is unbelievably dangerous, especially with large pressure differences (eg, working on undersea sewer outflows that can suck you in while welding them shut.)
Here’s an interesting video on Delta P, and why it’s so dangerous.

We shove these robots, we make their work difficult. When ai becomes our overlords, those robots are seeking revenge.
