Like the cartridges? No shit?
Different storage types have different read performances. That is true whether it is a random ass cartridge, an sd card, or internal (generally nvme) storage. Its why one of the biggest noticeable performance upgrades people could do in the 10s and 20s was moving their OS from HDD->SSD or SSD->NVME and why some games strongly encourage installing it to the fastest storage you have.
Hell, I specifically named my drive mounts based on the speed “category” of the NVMEs on my mobo.

The Switch could easily copy the game from the card to the local SSD and remove any performance penalty. Just like computers used to do with games on CD.
