- Comment on GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead 19 hours ago:
I’d say
If AAA games encompass your entire view of the gaming industry, you’re a lost cause.
The rest is redundant

I need someone to translate it all

I loved the gameplay as well, it seems like a fresh take on the classic turn based jrpg formula
- Comment on Pearson complaining about using Linux to access my course material 1 week ago:
I’m guessing it’s the default message for any non-whitelisted os and it was written assuming you’ll be on an old version of windows and not linux
- Comment on [Digital Foundry] Oblivion Remastered PC: Impressive Remastering, Dire Performance Problems 1 week ago:
I had to use upscaling to get it to 60 but there’s certainly worse
- Comment on [Digital Foundry] Oblivion Remastered PC: Impressive Remastering, Dire Performance Problems 1 week ago:
It’s because there’s a lot more optimization you can do on a fighting game vs a big open world, it just doesn’t have to render that much comparatively.
- Comment on [Digital Foundry] Oblivion Remastered PC: Impressive Remastering, Dire Performance Problems 1 week ago:
No I’m saying that it being a fighting game meant that it’s much easier to optimize because you have such a fixed camera angle and few characters on screen.
- Comment on [Digital Foundry] Oblivion Remastered PC: Impressive Remastering, Dire Performance Problems 1 week ago:
Idk I think the only one of those on that list that I’ve played that ran well enough that I’d consider it ok was tekken and I’m assuming that’s more because it’s a fighting game.

As soon as someone releases a UE5 game that doesn’t run like ass

Yeah haven’t felt that way idk

Audio has seemed fine to me, have only need the subs for the characters that aren’t speaking a real language lol

Microsoft/Xbox has been pretty good on the hardware side with their Xbox Adaptive Controller
- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 Launches on June 5th Worldwide; 1080p Screen With 120 FPS and HDR Support, Docked Mode 4K Resolution Support Confirmed 5 weeks ago:
I’d bet that’s using a lot of upscaling in both modes
- Comment on Spectre Divide shutting down six months after launch reminds us how hard it is to make a live-service game 1 month ago:
Because they’re designed to suck up as much time as possible. You can easily have half the time soent in live service games but not half of the gamers playing a live service title at any given time.
- Comment on Steam Deck / Gaming News #4 1 month ago:
Not even the same quality, piracy is often better either because they combined multiple sources to get better quality or because streaming services won’t even give you the quality you pay for without jumping through their hoops. To the second point, Netflix stopped supporting pcm 5.1 audio on their desktop app so unless I have to pirate the shows I’m paying for unless I want to watch in stereo.

Punters?
- Comment on Eurogamer: we can't recommend the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds 2 months ago:
DP is working fine for me, it could have been a botched upgrade and got just have to try again (or DDU)
- Comment on Eurogamer: we can't recommend the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds 2 months ago:
It seems better on launch with the nvidia driver for it than it was during the first open beta but I think they’re right with the overly aggressive culling and texture streaming causing issues. They said it’s still more than playable at 4k60 with my 3080ti and I’m having a blast
- Comment on Let's discuss: Pokémon 2 months ago:
They got too big and just feel like a vehicle to sell merch now
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
Yeah after reading that I used tracker.gg to look at my match history and it seems like around 1 in 10 quick play matches were bot matches, I watched the replay of one and it was pretty obvious. No competitive matches at least
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
I hear people say this but I’ve yet to see it, usually just toxic people calling the losing team bots
- Comment on NetEase reward US-based developers of live service hit Marvel Rivals by sacrificing their jobs to "efficiency" 2 months ago:
The US and Japan dev teams aren’t the only people working on it, there’s still the “core” team in China, though still doesn’t seem like a good move
- Comment on Multiverse 3 months ago:
I’d argue that multiverse theory being true would be a property of the multiverse, not a property of any individual universe, but the ‘infinity not including all possibilities’ part is true too
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
If all the people censoring everything got together maybe they could too
- Comment on Why do so many UK electrical sockets have an on/off switch next to them? 3 months ago:
I mean there can be either outlets or light fixtures connected to them, generally the switched outlets have lamps plugged in though.
- Comment on Why do so many UK electrical sockets have an on/off switch next to them? 3 months ago:
It’s not about having a switch it’s about having the switch right next to the plug instead of next to the doorway (where it usually is in the US)
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
Yeah I’m surprised nobody else mentioned CS, it’s kind of the eternal FPS in my mind
