It must not be important if they put that goofball in charge.
- Comment on The End of Ownership. Sony’s announcement has fans worried they might never truly own their beloved games. 15 hours ago:
Sony should be worried because I will never own a Sony platform again.
5 generations of owning PlayStations. I have disks from the 90s that still work perfectly well. It was good while it lasted.
- Comment on Xbox wanted 77M Game Pass subscribers by 2026 — today it has less than half that 5 days ago:
The entire point was gamepass.
The sell was with gamepass all these games are “free” on day one. If they release on other platform, they are full price.
All the other stuff is just temporary drama that would get resolved once the competition dies. The long term plan was for all the Activision Blizzard and Zenimax fans to buy Xboxes and be locked in that ecosystem until the end of time.
- Comment on Xbox wanted 77M Game Pass subscribers by 2026 — today it has less than half that 5 days ago:
Spending 70 billion dollars for gamepass content never seemed like a viable strategy.
There’s also the issue that I don’t think there are enough customers that would trust Microsoft in a pure rental situation.
MS’s other money makers have all turned to complete trash. The only business strategy that MS understands is monopoly.

Have fun doing whatever is fun for you.

Nintendo makes good AA and AAA games just like they did decades ago.
They don’t believe in discounts or quality analog sticks but their game design is still solid.
- Comment on Sony will kill PlayStation games on discs in 2028 and offer digital downloads only 1 week ago:
I wish there was a service that let all consumers order a physical version of any game with all the latest patches available at the time it was purchased.
- Comment on End of an era? 1 week ago:
This is what happens when their only competitor is a mindless Microslop.
Nintendo carved out their niche and Sony has no chance against them in that market after abandoning AAA and AA single player games in favor of trash service games.

Stocks are either investments or a daily high for degenerate gamblers. GameStop is the second.

- Comment on French retailer mocks €1039 Steam Machine with “Stim Machine” RX 9060 XT PC for €999 2 weeks ago:
What is the selling point of a steam machine.
“Do you want to overpay for obsolete hardware that can barely run most modern games? Are you really stupid and cannot use a USB drive to make a very simple software installation that already has tons of step by step instructions freely available online?”
- Comment on “Gaming is becoming unaffordable” — Xbox CEO says the industry has an accessibility crisis 2 weeks ago:
The $60 price point was helped by the market expanding but that is going to be difficult with the hardware costs.
Devs need to bring down production costs. They should be making games at PS2 quality instead of maxing out PS5 Pros.
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 2 weeks ago:
The hobby is becoming more mainstream and nobody is willing to manufacture so much that there’s a massive risk of losses if it doesn’t sell.
Also, AI. Also, late stage capitalism.

- Comment on Microsoft CEO says "YouTube monetizes Xbox better than we do", ahead of expected layoffs | Satya Nadella bemoans performance of Xbox 3 weeks ago:
In reality, I am sure that the executives making financial decisions have no clue what a quality game is.
They see a game that sells well and that is what they consider quality.
Once a studio sells out to a larger one there should be no expectation of future quality or innovation from that studio. The studio’s new mandate becomes “make more of what sold and don’t change anything” which is pretty much a coffin for that franchise.
- Comment on Microsoft CEO says "YouTube monetizes Xbox better than we do", ahead of expected layoffs | Satya Nadella bemoans performance of Xbox 3 weeks ago:
Nintendo has a very reliable and steady amount of high quality AAA and AA games that they make for their console.
Sony used to have a very reliable quality AAA and indie games on their console.
Microsoft had Halo and Forza.
- Comment on Microsoft CEO says "YouTube monetizes Xbox better than we do", ahead of expected layoffs | Satya Nadella bemoans performance of Xbox 3 weeks ago:
Microsoft sees quality that someone else made and it buys it. It works for a bit but they don’t know how to perpetuate quality.
- Comment on Microsoft CEO says "YouTube monetizes Xbox better than we do", ahead of expected layoffs | Satya Nadella bemoans performance of Xbox 3 weeks ago:
Xbox was never meant to make anything of quality. Xbox was just a Trojan horse to trap customers into a Microsoft walled garden.
A bunch of greedy no talent monopolists whose only skill is using a lot of money to buy out competitors are running Microsoft.
- Comment on 3 weeks ago:
B2 was offered to multiple publishers and Nintendo showed up at the 11th hour to save the game from being cancelled. Setting up the Bayonetta series as a Nintendo exclusive mostly because everyone else was willing to let it die.

- Comment on FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
The game are not long. The games have serious pacing issues because they’re artificially stretching a well paced classic well beyond what the story can support.
People didn’t finish it b cause they were bored to tears.
- Comment on FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer 5 weeks ago:
You’re just picking out notable exceptions. The vast majority of the 70-90% games are truly forgettable and forgotten a month after release.

They already failed. FF7R is like Fast is at the Furious 9 part of its lifespan. Just overindulgent slop.
- Comment on FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer 5 weeks ago:
Review scores reflect the production quality of a game more than the actual quality of the game design. That’s why every piece of crap game from a AAA publisher gets a 7 or 8 out of 10 but a masterpiece can get a similar score just because they don’t look as fancy.
- Comment on FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer 5 weeks ago:
3-4 million less sales according to resetera. Losing 30% of your customers in the mid-point of the story is rough.
Final Fantasy VII Remake and Intergrade have sold 8.7 million units as of March 2025, according to Eurogamer. With the Switch 2 and Xbox ports, I won’t be surprised if it is between 9 to 9.5 million units at the moment.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has sold 4 million units on the PS5, based on what we heard from Alex Donaldson back in August 2024, and anywhere from 700k- 1 million units on Steam, according to Steamdb, but take these numbers with a grain of salt. It could be anywhere from 5-6 million units, but we can’t know for sure until we get numbers from Square Enix.
I’m sure the third one will also have ridiculously inflated review scores.
- Comment on FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer 5 weeks ago:
I am rooting for its failure after seeing the level of quality in their final product. It is overly ambitious but they didn’t have the talent to actually write well or make any of the new content an improvement over the original.
SquareEnix is just existing because an MMO is keeping them afloat.
