    An astounding amount of cushy government jobs and social programs went to veterans or farmers.

      Some cushy sure, but I worked at the VA as a contractor. Most had served their time and were using the skills taught.

      Doesn’t take long to get Veteran status. Combat Vets are a different animal, though.
