“Deeply sorry” rings false when it is followed by all the reasons excuses why he shouldn’t face the consequences.

150hrs community service and 65k to repair the plane isn’t enough. Some cost of the damages as a result of the plane being out of service would better suffice. No idea what that would reasonably be however, or how to measure that.

Oh wow - our legal system CAN react this quickly. That’s good to know, as we watch Washington burn to a crisp while federal judges and congresspeople do… uh…

Well, this guilty person stood up, plead guilty, and accepted the sentencing.
That is the key difference. People who will never admit fault or guilt will invariably delay the end of the trial and resulting sentence.

People always forget that costs us money. Unless he’s a continuing risk to others, let’s just cost him money.

The only way to strike the rich is to take away what they can’t buy. They can’t buy more time, so that’s one of the only ways to make a lesson stick.
And if you’re still worried about cost just do jailtime and a fine to cover incarceration.

Fuck that noise. They’d put a poor person in prison without thinking twice.
Otherwise it’s just him paying a fee to be a prick.
FWIW I’d be ok with publicly executing him instead, but I suspect that won’t be a popular opinion.
