Thank you for the information, but I wasn’t so much concerned about the details as enjoying the revelation that a comic strip from my childhood suddenly made sense.

I’ve been trying to use google to understand this reference but it’s late for me, are you talking about the Heinz ad with the song “anticipation” from the 1970’s? Or is there a story i missed
