I love my bonds period undies. My skin never coped well with pads and I struggle with tampons too. I’ve tried the kmart period undies and they’re okay for the price, but I’m not trusting them on some days!

period talk
Also, period panties are great. I love not having to throw out pads and tampons, and just wash some undies. Much nicer, more comfy, feels less like wearing a diaper. I really really like the U brand undies, and the Bonds undies. I also have another two pairs from an “indie brand” when they first became popular, but they’re made with like, pure polyester/plastic for the butt and fupa parts, which makes it very uncomfy and hot. Bonds and U use a blend I believe, which is more breathable and more akin to a nice fabric than plastic. As someone with some sensory issues and trauma, not having to wear diaper pads (lol) is a lifesaver. I feel less angry about my period in general. Plus, since I stopped the birth control pills, my period has fallen on this week, instead of on the week of Xmas, like for the last 3 years lol

Oh yeah some days I still use a super pad, especially overnight (the U overnights, that are super long, work a treat). And same with the skin thing, having the skin rubbed all ways to Sunday by synthetic pad material makes for a very uncomfortable time, when it already is an uncomfortable time lol!
Some brands are just a bit too… Flimsy, poorly made, or not absorbent enough for use. Maybe okay for the end of a period, or spotting, but not days 2 - 4 😂

Just commenting here so I can come back to the discussion for future reference. As a menopausal woman with a nearly pubescent girl child, I’m having a touch of concern about my ability to ensure her future needs are met in a modern and comfortable way. Will be preemptively purchasing period undies at some point.

Bonds or U if you can! They’re the most comfy! Sometimes they go on sale at woolies too, which is where I’ve bought all mine
