It really is though. I’ve watched it multiple times and all the other jump scares are serviceable, but forgettable. The door though, is fantastic.
It’s another movie that Matthew Lillard drools in. That has to also count for something.

I’m sorry, I’m very squeamish and don’t want to look this up, but I have to know along what plane he was cut in half, like left to right, front to back, or top to bottom?
He was standing in the doorway and it came in from the sides. Ended up with a front half head to toes and back half head to heels.
