I’m not disputing anything you’re saying, just trying to explain the logic of a movie production studio. If they’re trying to make a Minecraft movie, they’re going to gear it to maximize the revenue from their audience.
If they made it a kids movie, it’s because they thought that would make them the most money. Whatever kind of movie they made, it’s for monetary reasons.

People need to wake up to the fact that these movies are ads to sell shit. This is an ad to sell Minecraft to a new generation in of kids. Why in the world do you think they keep rebooting movies that’s made for kids like Star Wars and Transformers? Because they sell toys to kids.
So, why Minecraft movie? You admit the stats yourself: they need kids to like Minecraft to sell Minecraft branded shit. They don’t even have to play the fuckin game as long as they’re paying for cheap branded plastic for kids to show off to their friends what brand represents their personality the best.

I don’t think you’re wrong. I do think a good movie would be more profitable than a bad one. I wouldn’t show my kid this movie out of principle, because I happen to be of a generation that cares about this franchise. I wouldn’t buy any merch, toys, or clothes either. I’m sure some would, but I feel strongly that this movie won’t generate the profits they want, and it’ll be specifically because they made something terrible.
