Not the whole comment, but the word would get removed. It also applies to any comments posted to communities hosted on the server.

That’s sad. But hey, I see my instance hasn’t done anything yet!
I know Youtube, TikTok etc. do it only to be able to sell the content better to advertisers; if there’s swearing in it, gullible children might not be allowed to watch it, so less ads sold.
I wonder why lemmy.ml does it?
